Here are two GOOD souls-like games to play instead.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/628670/Hellpoint/

The dlc is worth it. This game is the closest to a soulslike from an indie dev I've seen, while still doing its own thing (this time a scifi setting). Highly recommend!

The dlc isn't worth it. This one's a little different. The combat shares many similarities with a soulslike, but most everything else is different. For one there's a ton of story and lore to find and listen to from npcs, or you can skip it if boring. Some people think the combat feels off, but I found it felt great and fluid. Worth checking out with an open mind, also highly recommended.

Hellpoint looks pretty similar, yet, at least right now, better.

Hellpoint is imo one of better Souls clones out there, i dont know why it has so low score (i assume its because starting area is not very good and people quit there). It is really solid game if you give it a chance.

Asterigos was a disappointment for me. Combat was meh, level design was meh, i didnt like main character.

Other soulslikes i liked: Remnant from ashes (shooter souls), Mortal shell, Ashen, Steelrising, Surge series, Nioh series, Darksiders 3, Lords of the fallen (people tend to not like it, but i did), Jedi fallen order.

I didnt like: Thymesia, Code vein, Dolmen, Immortal unchained.

Call me when astergios has at least as much suist as steelrising does.

Sure, if I knew what suist is.

Hellpoint is solid. I didn't like the story all that much, but the level design is stellar (albeit rather confusing as Irid Novo is a freaking labyrinth, but that's what I love about it) and once you get a build you're comfortable with going, combat can be fun. It's janky, but I have a feeling people might find it very polished in comparison.

Hellpoint is great, yeah..it got rough edges, but i spend probably 200 hours with the main game and the "new" dlc.
and Asterigos is one of the best 3rd person action rpgs out there (and pretty grim tbh., perhaps cause the violence and depravity are more spelled out, like with the eye-hunter or the blackwarden), but i wouldn't call it a souls like. it's more a story-based rpg with action combat. lots of pretty good dialogue, real story-progression and ingame cutscenes mixed with styelized 2D/3D cutscenes. also the combat and build-system is pretty rock solid.

Hellpoint is one of the worst soulslikes out there lol. At least post Mortal Shell or Nioh.

Mortal Shell is also very meh. If we're talking similar grimdark setting, with a passable combat, the only thing I can think of is Immortal: Unchained. It has its share of issues, enemies becoming bulletspongey as you progress and weapon balance skewed towards sniper rifles especially lategame but it's subjectively good enough.
It also has exp/levels, and a tiny bit of customization, not much just a few presets, but still ahead off Hellpoint/Bleak Faith/Mortal Shell. It's also the only soulslike with guns, which makes more sense in a futuristic content than beating on each other with rusty pipes and axes.

I would avoid stormbreaker DLC, I found it terrible.

I found both of these soulslikes pretty lack luster. Didn't like hellpoint at all and found asterigos very boring and gave up 14 hours in.

Nioh 1 and 2, The Surge 1 and 2, Steelrising, Remnant, Ashen, hell even Chronos all woulda been better examples.

Remnant also has guns. It plays pretty loose with the soulslike formula, but it's still close enough. I've heard a lot of people bash Immortal but I just found it to be boring, though I haven't played it in a while.

Hellpoint is amazing, one of the few souls-clone who understands that exploration and good level design is important

While I am enjoying Bleak Faith (great world and atmosphere), Hellpoint is one of my most played Soulslikes. I love doing challenge runs. 160 hours in it, so far.

I really wanted to like this one. It's incredibly linear, and some aspects are just kinda... meh. The new publisher was gonna do an overhaul but I never saw an update.

Hellpoint is great
Asterigos meh - story and chars god awful, fighting was nice
Bleak Faith great so far, but needs a lot of polish

After I refunded I noticed that Steelrising was on sale for just a bit less than BF was.

Been having a blast with it.
