why quit when killed in casual?
One of the main mechanics this game introduced was respawning teammates. so why is it mostly ignored outside of ranked (where there is a penalty for leaving early)?

Obviously Respawn implicitly say this is fine by removing the penalty in casual, but do y'all just not enjoy the wait or what?

Personally I really enjoy the respawning and am always disappointed when i cant respawn teammates. It adds more drama, tactics and forces players to be more adaptable.

im not calling for a punishment for players who leave or whatever, its your leisure time, enjoy it how you want. but i think winning a game after 2/3 of your team got killed feels better than an ez win where no one even got downed.

Hence the reason why i dont play casuals

i can leave and start killing people in another game quicker than most people are going to finish doddling around a rock against 3 other people and die anyway, in casual obviously

It depends.

If your team is fighting the people who killed you or at least frantically running around trying to find a weapon to help, then stick around, they might win, revive you & you might win the match.

If your team is more interested in looting than helping you fight 3 people on your own & then instead of helping you they run away to a nearby spot & carry on looting then that team is never going to win a match, you're wasting your time staying in & they'll probably never bother even trying to get your banner so just quit out.

Also if your mid to late game & your team decides to loot your deathbox for all your gear before getting you back... just quit, you're not going to be able to defend yourself against a well equipped team & the people who took your gear are going to shout why aren't you helping us fight. A waste of your time when you can quit with no penalty & jump into another match hoping for a competent team.

guess it makes more sense when you look at casual being a means of doing challenges. i guess you don't want to be doing ranked as a legend you're not good with shooting guns you don't like...

thats where being adaptable becomes the fun for me. its not ranked so i dont really care if im left with level 1 shield and a p2020. trying to make that work, mid to late game, thats fun to me. but i guess im a bit of a masochist :pug:.

thats probably true like 60% of the time, but is it really that big a time difference when you account for loading, picking legends, longer drop into a more chaotic arena?

If you leave as soon as you are knocked, but before you are finished I believe the death isn‘t counted as a death in your Kill/Death rate. Is that true, what I‘m saying?

Woooah seriously? I have seen people with 40+ K/D so that is probably the way to get high K/D. I honestly didn't know that

It's very true, sadly it's a big problem in unranked game modes. It wouldn't exactly be fair for the game to drop your K/D for just getting knocked though so I'm not sure how they solve it without implementing Quit Penalties in Casual modes (which would make them not casual anymore)

They're damned if they do & damned if they don't.

This basically, and there's nothing really on the line like RP points which you can still gain even if you're dead assuming whomever is still alive in the Squad continues to survive deep into the game. (Queue Time Penalty aside) There's just more incentives in ranked to stay.

Also not everyone has all the time in the world to play so if you die and you're trying to get your hour of Apex in the day then you can just leave and re-queue especially if you're solo queuing and not with a group of friends. People sometimes want to practice certain aspects/situations of the game like hot dropping. Yeah it blows but it is just the nature of non-ranked matches, not necessarily defending this behavior, but it is what it is.

I recommend either just playing ranked or grabbing a friend or two to play if you want more consistency with people staying in a lobby with you.

If you quit while downed, it should count as a death. Problem solved.

This. Time out Penalty maybe overboard (since it prevents you play the game), but anything that shoehorn you into a "bad" player, (without taking enjoyment out) is a good idea.

A guy can claim He's good at killing, but if he leave a lot, his KD will always suffer.

That being said, it will not prevent the really good players to leave -- 5 kills, down, then leave, still give them an average KD of 4~5.

cant be bothered to watch crap team mates try n revive me, leaving is best option

You can thanks the 20 bomb badge and 4k damage for it.

It is easier and faster to get it by leaving and joining a new game rather than waiting for teammate to respawn you and the need to gather equipment again.

Plus, the longer you stay dead the less enemy for you to kill and earn the badge.

Not going to solve the problem since nobody can see the KD anyway. Real problem is the badge... People just trying to get the 20 badge and 4k.. with 20 squad and 57 opponent to go, it doesn't make it any easy anyway.

if my m8s know what to do, i wait. if they suck, i leave. i don't wait 5 min until someone has the great idea to run to a respawn beacon. instead they loot for 1 hr...
first thing i do after me or m8 has taken the banner - i run like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to the beacon, so the dead m8 doesn't need to wait - because i know how that sucks.
