If you imprison and execute them, you wont have to watch them wither away from disease
Well Deusmodeus arent you the kind soul.

Can you elaborate a little on what you mean they just die to sickness? The plagues?

Use the isolate capital anytime it pops up, ensure you have physician set to the plague resistance bonus. keep a wet nurse to buff child health.
Invest your renown into the health bonuses.
some buildings also have plague resistance to help offset high development.

consider sending your children to foreign realms as wards, this will spread them out and reduce the odds of a single event wiping them out.

They are already dead and I was doing most of that to begin with.
No idea, man. Get rid of the plagues. Build structures that help prevent disease. Hire a good physician. Invest in the education path and improve healthcare. It’s really not that difficult.

Of course people are going to die once they’re over 60.

It’s the Middle Ages, dude.

1) Build hospices and upgrade them as the games progresses. I got atleast 1 in each holding, is it too much? Dont know, I just dont want plagues to go all crasy.
2) Upgrade your temples
3) When the plague comes near your capital (this is where your family lives) isolate the capital + go into hiding.
4) I dont know if this actually works, but if your sons become sick and are of age, make a small army of like 200 troops and make them the commander, and send them away from everyone else. It works the other way around if you want to get rid of them or vassals :) Just saying.
5) Build + Upgrade your vassals hospices, mine are VERY bad at even building them so they have entire holdings with zero.
6) Through marriage, give your descendents robust genetics or better.
7) If you become sick, change your doctor to plague management.
8) Get health boost through lifestyle.

That is what I can think off at the top of my head, I think I had one plague that practically wiped 80% of my family, but after that maybe 1 or 2 family members every 100 years or so.

I frequently also do speed runs around my empire upgrading anti plague buildings and building holdings of my vassals, which I use a significant gold to do so, like 3/4 every so often. In my current game I earn 650 gold every tick, and I spent like 40.000 gold doing this.
This situation is why you should land your family members. Not only do they breed more effectively when living on their own, giving you more backup heirs, but being physically distant means you likely won't all die of the same instance of disease.

You did the equivalent of putting the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State all on the same plane. What if that plane crashes?

good advice ty.
Since there is already good advice being shared I think it is also worth saying:
This is just how the game is.

CK is not a traditional game where just because you did everything right you win.
The game can and will randomly kick your teeth in for no reason at all aside from random chance.

CK is almost more about working with the garbage cards the game keeps giving you than actually having a plan of what to do because who knows if the game will be like "Alright you have a tiny kingdom now, lets get the entire Western/Eastern world declare holy war for your eradication and see how it goes, you just have to beat this 500:1 odds military fight LOL".

Then after you get completely wiped out and you think everything is over, you somehow end up playing as a heir to the HRE because you forgot you did a Matrilinial marrage with one of your grand-grand kids somewhere around there like 50 years ago completely as a whim or joke :cozybethesda:

Pretty much this. Just don't land your primary heir and one backup heir in case the first one dies or turns out rotten. Land everyone else that can be landed and try to set up the rest in marriages where they're the dominate side when possible (I know it's not always possible, but the more often you can do that, the larger your dynasty gets).

The main reason why you don't want to land your primary heir and one backup is because the AI is completely stupid and will make stupid choices all the time. It's not uncommon for it to completely ruin a character with its stupidity. Cheating, picking horrible stress related traits (especially rakish), getting maimed/disfigured, getting into debt, angering its vassals, it goes on and on. The AI is likely to do all of those things.
Turn down plague frequency in the settings.
or if you don't enjoy the plague mechanic just switch it off in the game rule before starting a new run.

Pretty much all the above advice works and should help you and be sure to keep an eye out for the plague warning in the bottom right corner. Once you know one is near you can then monitor it and know when/if to seclude your capital or go in to quarantine

This. Playing with plagues can get really annoying really quickly. Even at the lowest settings they're very common.

Anyway, back to plague management. Sometimes the plagues won't reach your capital, which is a huge relief. You can usually predict where plagues will go (they almost always cover coastal regions) so if it looks like your capital is close to an infected region, build the proper buildings and try to isolate your capital ASAP. Sometimes the plague will bypass your capital entirely if you do this; not always, but there's a chance. Might be related to plague res or just RNG, not sure. However, if the plague has already reached your capital, then isolation and seclusion won't stop courtiers from catching it. That usually leads to several family deaths (or your character's death if you're unlucky enough).

Oh wow, looks like your dynasty was not meant to be.
