Very very late game meta-currency exchange for advancing rank

Played since early access for about 300 runs now. Maxed out everything (contractor, mirror, prophecies, aspects, heat, statues), except the rank in the master chamber. (Oh, and also the codex for Chaos' rarest fish :p)

Now each rank require like 5k++ darkness to advance. And it's so slow to grind for darkness since each run I'll get around 750. Maybe 1.5-2 times greater if I'm lucky to find the right boon from Poseidon or Chaos.

But each run also gets me around 250 gems (rooms, troves, bosses, fishes), and a small amount of other meta-currencies. These mean nothing to me now since I can't spend them anywhere anymore. Currently I have excess ~15k gems sit in my bank.

I wish I could trade these excess meta-currencies back to darkness through Wretched Broker more often. Because there is no standard offer to trade anything back to darkness, and the special offer rarely gives darkness back. Could the special offer for darkness show up more at these late game, please?


P.S. I'm fully aware that rank are just cosmetic and darkness meant NOT to be grind for advancing ranks. I just feel bad for having too many wasted resources.

This. I wound up modding the game to give 10 times the normal amount of darkness when you finish a run (final boss only, so there's no special effect on the run itself). Would be nice if, say, every heat level granted you, say, +200 additional Darkness for the final boss for every successive heat level (e.g. level 10 would reward you with 250 + 10*200 = 2250 darkness for beating the final boss). It'd also be a good incentive to continue playing at higher heats!

I really don't like the Resource Director. I wish we could instead exchange high-end currency for the ability to reroll Daedalus hammers much like Fated Persuaion or such, primarily because Hammers are what defines the playstyle the most and gives me the most, or least, enjoyment.

Another thought: what if we could used Fated Authority to reroll Infernal Trove rewards? Got one full of gems but need darkness? Just use a Fated Authority and you're set. Got a trove for health but you're full? You can reroll for, say, obols instead.
