Nippon DLC?

Anyone got any other ideas what other races are left? Chaos Dwarves are kind of a given. Hobgoblins? Frankl,y I want a reinvented Nippon thats a cat samurai/ninja race... warhammer has a total lack of cats, and that faction was never really fleshed out anyways.

Ok but lets be serious, Nippon shouldn't have hippos. It should have horses. That's the animal that Samurai actually used in their armies. I don't think any of the animals associated with Japan really fit into a military, unless they have like a giant tanuki warhound reskin or something but that doesn't really make a lot of sense. That's the generous answer that skirts around the ridiculousness of what you're actually trying to ask for.

Seriously though they should actually add hippos to some faction. Hippos would be actually be cool. Unfortunately they wouldn't fit anywhere, cause hippos are living creatures so they don't fit into tomb kings and geographically that's the only logical area.

Lack of cats is one thing but it doesn't need to be nippon cats are everywhere...

Sounds like a man that knows what they are talking about and is intimately familiar with the future development of the game. They've seen the roadmap. How could we ever doubt their words about the future plans of the game.

To be clear, the dev interviewed was a writer. They made it pretty clear in that interview that they don't know and are making a guess based on some stuff they have seen. I think we can believe them that it's not on the roadmap. Development roadmaps don't usually go into detail that far out because it depends a lot on how previous things turn out, and for post release support how things sell and what players are demanding.

If this was the lead designer for the game saying probably never, that would have some meaning. A writer that says they have seen the roadmap and then immediately transitions to some of the writing they have done for upcoming Cathay content, probably not that conclusive.

I'm sure if anyone had mentioned Vampire Coast back when WH2 was about to launch they would have said something similar.

We'll see sooner or later but if NIPPON does not join the TWWH cast... that's a missed opportunity by CA and GW to expand the setting in a very groovy way.

Chaos Dwarfs are the most likely of any DLC race but id be surprised if they don't focus on new LL's for the factions, there's a lot of named Daemons and Daemon Princes that could be included like Valkia, Valnir, Festus, Dechala and many others.
Not sure with Nippon but considering they basically created a whole roster for Cathay it isn't impossible.

Nippon, while they could be really interesting, they would have to add land mass to the map. And I just don't see them doing that.

Pretty sure that's because Cathay is going to be in the Old World. We don't know for sure about Cathay specifically, but we do know that Kislev is and they have gotten similar treatment both roster-wise and lore-wise. In fact Cathay has had more new lore about that Kislev has. I think if we are using Cathay or Kislev as our standard or evidence that any faction can come, then that would also require knowing whether said faction is going to be included in the Old World.

Kuresh,Araby. At some point they will definitely add Kuresh because Nagas and who doesnt want more reptiles?

Cats? We already have the degenerate factions its slannesh! So just add a unit or furries to them and some unwashed weeaboo filth with their katana collection and its already fully developed :)
