Cool idea for a Skaven mod
I have been playing a bit with Queek Headtaker recently and i came up with a cool idea for a mod for Skaven. I was thinking about the Tree teleport thingy for Wood elves and thought that skaven should have something similar.

Because the Skaven inhabit the world spanning under-empire they should be able to travel across the map quickly using a similar system. What if important Skaven settlements like Karak Eight Peaks, Hell Pit, Skavenblight and Crookback Mountain (And perhaps others) where connected to a teleport system similar like the wood elves?

For instance, after upgrading the mentioned settlements to level 4 or 5, you get visual of all the other mentioned settlements and their corresponding factions inhabiting them to interact with through diplomacy. Then, if you'd like you could teleport an army from your own to the other region. (Within a few turns or whatever cost seem appropiate for balance.)

Once you land in the other region, you would of course have to handle all the drawbacks of tresspassing (If you dont have military access yet) and not being able to return to your own region because you dont own the settlement that you teleported to. (And you need it to be level 4 or 5 if you did own it).

What do you guys think? Im not a modder so just wanted to share this idea that popped in my head.

I think that the underway movement is allready too OP so not really the target audience for this.. But long distance journey done in shorter time actually makes more sense than the underway move on open field.. Assuming that the old world is not a flat square..

Based on the novels, it's definately not quick (Thanquol exhausted many palanquin to reach a "short" distance ~ Nuln to Kislev took a while ; Gotrek & Felix were much faster, thx to Malakai's Spirit of Grugni).

But if they were to implement this mechanic as a BUILDING (tier 4/5) to link different Skaven cities (or to undercities - Edit : maybe too OP to include undercities here), then I wouldn't mind and I would find it cool,
such as taking from 1 to X turn to reach different (long distance) locations
(with ~ let's say ~ a possibility for races with underway to intercept or something, to spice things up...).

Nah. The world roots are a magic transportation network. The Skaven just live in the mundane caves and tunnels under the world and have to travel by normal means. Maybe something like sea lanes though that would be a little faster than traveling over the map, but certainly not instant.

Just to be clear I used the term "teleport" in the context of a game mechanic. By all means we can call it "Under-empire journey" or something to fit the lore. But the army will teleport in the game as a mechanic either way. Naturally, the journey can take as many turns as we deem to be balanced.

I just find it peculiar that I have to travel by boat for multiple turns across the ocean to invade lets say Lustria, when i supposedly should have the under-empire at my disposal as a Skaven.
