Computer Army Cheating
Can you fix your game so the computer has to follow the same economy rules as a player for supporting an Army. Watching a 1 territory AI army with a 3000+ a turn upkeep being supported by a 600 gold a turn settlement is getting silly, And no the computer did not sit on a stockpile of cash

You fix it my using your smarter animal brain and realising that the AI needs all the help it can get.

if you made the Ai's life as hard as it is for the player, nothing much would happen.

If it were possible to have separate parameters for difficulty on sliding scales I think it would be a great QoL feature that would solve a lot of peoples' issues around difficulty or immersion-breaking ai behavior, like ais just always being able to field more armies than you. I can just so rarely find the exact balance that feels good, and it's mostly dependent on the faction I choose & their starting challenge that fine tunes that level of difficulty to what I prefer.

While many wouldn't necessarily use it, the ability to fine tune my experience would be fantastic. Well aware this would not be a priority if they ever considered adding this feasture

you missing the point the AI is to suffer, being pushover, to make the player feels like god.
that's the goal of AI and it's program to be so. it's a philosophy it's my rights as human being. a machine is just that a machine. like a phone is just a machine to be discarded when no longer being useful.

any good program game would have adaptive difficulty but i guess this is CA...... they might have it in next decade or so if lucky.

And you know why it works like this? Because the AI is so stupid on the campaign map that if they played by your rules the game would be laughably easy. So the devs resort to cheap solutions like these to retain any semblance of challenge.

Get yourself some mods that remove things like anti-player bias and other campaign cheats and you'll see what I mean.

While its undeniable that the AI gets a lot of buffs/handicaps depending on difficulty (its rather useless without them), such as reduced upkeep etc.

It would in this case actually be the same for both players and the AI. Both would easily be able to afford a 3000+ upkeep army on a single settlement earning 600 gold a turn.

"Background income" is a thing. It varies a bit depending on difficulty but both your faction and the AI factions get like 2000-3000 income from nothing.

Dude you're taking it personal lol, it's a new one.
It's an algorithm, once you know how it works those cheats are the only thing that can help them put up an actual challenge.

Which sucks, everyone would rather have a better AI, but that's what it is.
Also no, the purpose isn't to make you feel overpowered, on the contrary it's to pose a challenge so that the player has to... play?
If you can't manage and wanna feel like a god there's an incredible amount of cheat mods on the workshop.
