Offensive Ambush Needs To Be Removed
Why does this even exist? Ambush battles are crap already, especially since ambushed armies now also get massive debuffs placed on them which is utterly unnnecessary as the positional advantage conferred by the ambush is strong enough to act as a huge force multiplier.

When I play Skaven, Beastmen or Tzeentch, having a field battle ruined by this garbage is reason enough to immediately aborting that campaign because you can't even turn it off. Just today I had a huge confrontation with Festus as Vilitch where we both had our armies lined up...and then this garbage triggered and I was cheated out of my epic showdown (because the ambusher in an offensive ambush also gets reinforcements somehow... of course). I was happy that for once the AI actally stood and fight and then the game decided to treat me like a baby anyway and handed me an unearned and undeserved victory I didn't have to work for.

Maybe this is in-character for the Tzeentch-aligned, but I don't care, it's lame. A game series that lives on spectacte should not take it away like this.

This crap needs to go. There's no reason for those factions to even have it at all. Normal ambush at least requires some sort of planning to pull off, but this is just flipping a coin and calling it right. If I want a game of chance I go to a casino.

I want my epic battles. I want my spectacle. I don't want more lazy and lame anti-climactic curbstomps based on RNG.

Uhhh... don't use teleport if you wanted a normal battle?

Or maybe the stance should not be tied to forcing the second-worst type of battle in the game.

And if I play Skaven or Beastmen I don't even have a choice at all.

I hate everything that is not a bog-standard landbattle. Remove it all!

When anything but the normal land battles is terribly designed, this is a very reasonable position to take.

Siege battles? Complete garbage
Ambush battles? Complete garbage
Survival battles? Complete garbage

Why are they all crap? What do they all have in common? O right, they give the player a huge advantage the AI barely ever can match and make an already too easy game even easier.

Maybe ask CA to make better alternatives to land battles.

We are supposed to be in control of our armies and battles are we not? If we want to tie one or two hands behind our backs and fight the enemy on terms that serve to further amuse us... it truly is our prerogative to do so.

For some of us... it's the only way to play... otherwise the game is just playing itself.

you teleported on festus and are mad that the teleport uses teleport mechanics
the mechanics clearly described in the teleport tooltip
and because of that lore needs to die and you want to play shogun2
i suggest playing shogun2 then
god i wish games didnt pander to casuals that just randomly click around instead of knowing what they are doing

you know you dont have to surround the enemy in an ambush
you can just fight an ambush like a normal fight
you dont have to ♥♥♥♥ on lore for your petty obsessions with boring field battles

Except you are not in control, You attack the enemy and then a coin is flipped deciding of what kind of battle you get. With Vilitch the armies of Festus were in encamp stance which should normally remove the threat of offensive ambushes...but apparently the teleports force them anyway. Another example of CA's utter sloppiness.

The best battle I had as Queek was a battle for K8P involving two of my stacks against 3.5 Greenskin armies. It was a nailbiter right through the end. If I had landed on tails with my cointoss I'd have instead gotten yet another forgettable and unloseable ambush battles and been cheated out of my epic clash.

Unless you weren't in range of them without teleport there's no reason for you to use it... it removes all your movement and spends winds. Contrary to normal march attacking them, not losing winds, being able to move further after defeating them, AND getting your normal field battle.
There was no coin flip in this case, you chose the outcome.

And even if the teleport was needed to engage the enemy(due to terrain), noone forces you to deploy right next to the enemy army just because it is an Ambush battle. You can deploy further back, if it fits your army better.

For me too offensive ambush is just something i dont get how can i be offensive and set an ambush at the same time it just doesnt make sense to me. I lost in one campain with cathay more than 3 whole armies just because a tzeentch army deciced to attack me and ambush me at the same time so all my range units were completly useless. I really hope that CA will fix this ♥♥♥♥. As i said it does not make any sense for me and it really took away my fun on this game sadly.

Teleport stance should not ignore encamp stance.
