How do marks of chaos work for WoC?
I am attempting to make themed mixed armies, one half khorne for damage, half nurgle for tank, and the second with slannesh and tzeench respectively as well. However all the heroes and wizards I recruited didn't have varying mark options.

I wanted to have a undivided leader or demon prince, a khorne/slannesh melee hero and a nurgle/tzeench wizard in their respective armies, but heroes don't have a slannesh option not wizards a nurgle one.

Is it rng for which marks they can get, or can those classes just not get those marks?

Also, why is it that chaos hero units just disappear when dismissed instead of just going back into the pool like everyone else's?

The game outright warns you that disbanding a hero removes them permanently regardless of whether they have Immortality or not. This applies to all factions. It's only Lords who will get put back into the pool if you dismiss them.

I saw the warning but I had only played WoC at that point so I didn't know it was the same for everyone. Why did they change this? It definitely didn't used to be that way

I don't know when the change happened but I was playing the Empire in IE and got that warning when dismissing heroes I didn't need after confederating other Elector Counts.

used to be heroes kept coming back no matter how much you didnt want them
forcing you to refire them every few turns
personally think its an improvement

The chaos factions have opposing chaos factions. Slaanish and Khorne are opposing. Since Khorn don't do magic and are all physical, they mush have made slaanish more about magic.

Personally I think there should be wizards and heroes for all the gods, khornes could be metal or fire or something. Or even just have khorne with no wizard, but nurgle should definitely have a wizard and slannesh a hero.

Oh well maybe in an update
