Frequent freezing/crashing even after the update
Framerate updates are great and the game looks buttery smooth. However, I'm running into crashes that seem to get more frequent as I get further into the game. Playing on both Steam Deck and PC. It happens in all areas, during battle, during dialogue. I'm not using the fast forward feature. There's no stuttering leading up to it. The game just freezes up while music and sound effects continue to play.

Didn't have any of these issues the first 8 or so hours in, but since then I'm encountering at least one in between every save point.

Try turning off antialiasing. That fixed it for me completely.

Sorry about that. Looks like it was just turning the graphics to classic. That uses the original character models. It fixed the crashing for me.

Plus the original character models look better. 😊

For the Steam Deck, I can confirm that switching to windowed mode has drastically improved stability. I also set the resolution to 1280x720 (steam deck default), rather than 1280x800 (game default).

EDIT: After changing the graphic mode from "new" to "classic," as was suggested above, I have not had a single crash. I don't know if windowed mode is necessary at this point, but with both settings enabled I have not encountered anymore crashes.

Maybe try using Large Address Aware, I wonder if it allows more than 4 GB? Still I find it embarrassing that a game released in 2022 is possibly using a 32-bit EXE.
What I did was select the graphic setting to classic and the problem seems to have gone away. The game runs perfect.
When you first click on the game to boot it up, you will get a window go to settings and change the graphics settings to classic that’s what fixed the crashing problem for me

Everyone's running an emulator. The morons lost the source code, so that's the only way anyone gets to play this game :)

At least most emulators nowadays have 64-bit EXEs but not this game since 2022? How pathetic.
