this fixes the issue for nvidia users
For me it’s not the “frame rate” per se, since it says 60 but it FEELS like I’m getting like 3-5FPS in some areas… the controls are so delayed I could push left and right and the inputs come out seconds later. Will try this regardless though, just seems like an engine/port/emulation issue.
Nope, some areas just become insanely laggy based on scenery despite reading out at 60 FPS just seems from being a bad port I guess. Running a 3080/5900x and on a NVME SSD so definitely isn't hardware, will try some of that stuff though. (could be acting weird since I run a G-Sync monitor also, but seems like everyone is getting crap performance though so doesn't seem like it this time)
To edit: Such as Fossil Valley is an early area where you can REALLY feel it on the map just how jank/laggy it feels. I have a backwards compatible PS3/PS2 and never had it run like this so it's how they ported it/emulation I guess or just lazy.
As it turns out, under the hood it's running a software renderer at like 12 FPS. The D3D11 part of the game you see is just the UI. That's why options are very sparse and also why the game's internal resolution is 4096x2048.
This is little more than an emulator (oh no, I said the naughty word, don't ban me!!) with a fluffy UI and achievements. Very disappointing.
