Controller not working with mod loader

I've tried my Xbox One controller, my wired Xbox 360 controller, my PS4 controller and my PS5 controller, and none of them work with the mod loader. If I open the game normally and not use reloader ii, the controllers work fine, but not with mods. It's not my drivers either, they're all updated. I've been searching for hours for a fix, but no luck. Has any of you guys found a fix?

the modloader should be connected with steam hook? which basically makes the game run everything through steam and the mod loader. did you follow the guide right because modding this game is not as simple as downloading a modloader and applying it to the game trust me

edit, thats to say i mod the game and play it with a fan made nintendo pro controller so

Yup, I'm certain I followed the guide correctly. I don't know what could be the problem.

Same here! Works with the regular exe, but keyboard and mouse only with mod loader. Glad this is such a new topic, maybe we'll get an answer? Google was no help.

And just so you know, you can run it straight from the reloaded 2 exe and the controller will work... just not if you do it through a Steam shortcut. Weird, huh?

Apparently Special K is the problem, but no matter what I try, I can't uninstall it.

I'm not using Special K, myself. I editedthe previous post to say if you don't run the game through the Steam shortcut, and just through the reloaded 2 exe in its folder, the controller seems to work.

It doesn't get installed in the first place. Game's completely unmodified as long as the Special K service is not running.
