They probably did it because they are now unable to balance the game properly? Devour doesn't work LOL, guess the activity was too easy or redundant with healing builds.

I'm going to shock you both with this: It was a purposeful design choice to make the mechanics work. You can't make players want to take bonuses that increase the amount healing orbs dropped if you don't get rid of their healing.

Bungie literally said why they were doing this.

to those of you who have devour builds, don't listen to the guy above, devour DOES work. however similarly to recuperation that gives you health on orb pickup, the percentage of health that you get per devour kill is very small. but if you pair devour with recuperation you will get more health back every time you pick up an orb since it'll count as two avenues of healing if you're using devour on void (non prismatic) and if you are using prismatic just try and chain double kills for the orb generation for recuperation and the small amount of health that you get on devour will work, not well, but it will work.

Devour was nerfed to the ground for the activity and you know it. So what you are saying is that to get a fraction of Devour to work I have to use garbage recuperation mods on my boots LOL? Yeah no thanks I'm good Devour is now useless at least in this activity.

I actually didn't know that devour was nerfed for any of this. I went into this season blind, didn't watch the dev stream or anything. You said devour didn't work at all, I just gave my take on that and showed that it does.

Worst decision ever. I really think the no healing mechanic needs to be removed. Zero fun factor.

This is honestly in my opinion the absolute worst "expansion" this games has ever released....

Healing is not working as intended, they're aware that healing builds are a thing and it seems that they wanted to limit regeneration, you can still heal with some stuff but they increased health so much it doesn't move the needle much. For example you can sit in a sunspot and actually see the health bar move a little.

Also there are things that still heal but its inconsistent across the board but Rat King heals you completely with the catalyst.

I agree. This is absolutely trash and I love roguelike/roguelite type games. But Bungie did it all kinds of stupidly wrong. It's not fun, engaging, etc. It's just hordes of enemies blasting you to ♥♥♥♥ and back while you're frantically searching for a vase to break in hopes that it has a health orb.

the simple work around is to use the crimson hand cannon or the suros regime auto rifle, both generate health with kills. no matter how low your health is, one kill with the either brings back health to 100%, no reason to not end the game with close to 18 lives.
