Depends on what you're looking for.

It's an FPS-ARPG. A live-service game. If you're looking for an MMORPG or a traditional C-RPG, you're likely to be disappointed. If you're familiar with what game-play in ARPGs is like and you enjoy that, then yes, it's a fun game.

You can download the base game and give it a try if you're not sure. The basic bounties and basic playlists are available to everyone, and it's possible to reach maximum light level even for FTP players.

If you do decide you like the game and want to do more with it, I'd suggest starting with the most recent expansion: Witch Queen. The Deluxe Edition includes all of the Y5 content, and runs about $80 USD (although currently it's on sale for $60). A bare minimum purchase would be the base expansion and an active season pass, but I'd suggest avoiding that, as the Deluxe bundle offers a better value.

The older content is all available in a bundle called the Legacy Collection. It's nice to have, but not strictly necessary. I'd suggest waiting for a sale before purchasing that. (However, I'll also point out that it too is on sale at the moment).

Regardless, it's free to download and try, I'd suggest forming your own opinions about what the game is like and whether it's enjoyable.

Everything has a high ttk in pvp, destiny 2 is just face paced.
