Help for Isolation Co-op
Hello!

This thread is made specifically for the purpose of helping players who may find Isolation somewhat difficult, or may simply be stuck. If you have successfully won in this map, please share your winning tactics as a reply here to help others who may be struggling.

As with all maps in the Blood Brothers series, I aim to provide a 'challenging but fair' gameplay experience. Since not everyone can be expected to be equally experienced at CoH2, this thread provides some helpful tips for those who may be struggling to complete this map.

In the interest of not ruining the gameplay, I will only provide beneficial tips to help improve your chances of success on this map, but these are tips, and as such will not carry you all the way to victory... you will have to go the rest of the way by yourself (or with a co-op partner of course).

Spoilers may be included below, please DO NOT read on if you have not played the map. It is better to play it first then come here if you are stuck.

General Tips:
- You may have noticed vision is not shared by allies on this map. This is an intended design element and to compensate for this, teammates must communicate with each other in some way to co-ordinate their actions or plan their attacks. Text chat and pings on the minimap are still visible to allies. It is almost impossible to win this map without communication of some form. Abilities such as Recon Planes provide a greater advantage for players on this map than others, but the vision granted by these abilities are given to the ability-owning player only, and not to his/her allies.

- A wide range of strategies are available for teams at the beginning of this map, players can:

1) all focus on enemy player 4, then turn around and focus on enemy players 5 and 6 when enemy player 4 is killed,
2) have one player focus on enemy player 4 while the others try to defeat enemy players 5 and 6,
3) have 2 players try to kill enemy player 4 and one other player to defend against enemy players 5 and 6 or,
4) have all players try to take VPs and defeat players 5 and 6 while only defending against enemy player 4.

All of these strategies are equally viable and can lead to a victory on this map.

- Defeating enemy player 4 has the benefit of securing the large stockpile of fuel and munitions beside his base. But taking too long to secure these fuel and munition points may lead to the VP timer expiring.

- Use chokepoints to defend, and launch attacks from other chokepoints when you are ready.

- Timing is an important factor on this map. If your team spends too long taking an objective other than the VPs, it may end with the VP ticker running out.

Tips for Players 1 and 2:
- Regardless of which strategy your team may pick, you cannot leave the riverbank unguarded. If the enemy is allowed to break through the riverbank, then it will become very difficult to contain the enemy, the lack of shared vision only makes this harder.

- Giving Player 3 any kind of help will significantly improve his/her effectiveness. In truth, the fight between Player 3 and enemy player 4 only requires a little help to tilt the battle to your team's favour.

- Aim for late game tanks if your team plans to grab the fuel points beside enemy player 4. However, if the plan is not to grab the fuel points for the game, then early rushing of the enemy VPs is advised. You may consider using mortar smoke barrages and penal squad satchel charges to destroy enemy MG emplacements. Otherwise it will be very difficult to regain ground from the US infantry spam without late game tanks.

Tips for Player 3:
- You cannot ignore enemy player 4, regardless which strategy your team chooses. Ignoring that enemy may lead to your base being overrun.

- Use everything you have at your disposal at the start of the game. The penal squad located far across the map may be recalled to use satchel charges on the enemy player 4's MG emplacements by sneaking behind them through the fuel and munition points.

- Efficient use of your units is paramount, if you lose too many units it will be extremely difficult to recover from that loss of firepower.

- Blowing up the bridge nearest to your base should be considered carefully. Blowing it up may prevent other enemy troops from interfering in your battle but also prevents allies from helping you (assuming the enemy does not repair the bridge, which they may from time to time). In addition, any allied units on your section of the map will be trapped there with you. Again, communication with allies is very important in making this decision.

I played this map as position 3.

This position has just 2 main jobs.
1. Make sure that enemy troops dont leave theyr base and try to destroy it and hold it that way.
2. Capture and hold 2ammo and 2fuel points so enemy cant use tanks on other side of the battlefield.
Optional is to send your spare units on other side of the battlefield to help your commrades.

Other positions (1 and 2) should just focus on take over those VPs.
I recomend to try finnish all these jobs fast because longer game is more difficult to beat but with good team no sweat.

Since you are not shareing vision its good to tell your teammates where your army is positioned. If one of you decided to use artillery its mandatory to use markers to show where your army is and where you need to hit.
This map can teach some guys how to comunicate which can help you be better player on who you can relay on.

Hi!

I beat this map after 3 tries with players.

imo this map is really 2 smaller maps put together. You have a small 1v1 map on the left side and a bigger 2v2 map on the right.

If playing as 1 or 2, I suggest one player rush the big bridge (there is a line of mines on the bridge! It's a trap so be careful!) and hold the other side of it. The other player hold the VP closest to medic station. These 2 players can push or wait for the 3rd player to finish with his side and catch up to help them.

The 3rd player needs to defeat the single enemy AI on that side in 1v1, then join with the other 2 if possible.

The biggest problem is not sharing sight. Communication is everything! Be very very careful not to kill allies with artillery bombs because you can't see them!!! Keep each other informed of what is going on. Recon planes are a big help on this map.

The guy above me has a point, late game is harder but still not impossible. If you get into late game, just be careful of the Jacksons if you have heavy tanks, their range and damage is too much, especially since they can shoot through the forest on their side if they have sight of your tank.

This is a hard map without communication but probably one of the easiest coop maps if you have willing talkative allies, the lack of shared sight makes it a very interesting and unique map. Have fun!
