In the frozen Northlands of Cobalt there is a forest that defies the bone-chilling winds and sub-zero temperatures called "Njord's Hearth". It is a home to many creatures that took refuge from certain death that lurks on the glacial paths of these inhospitable lands. This ancient forest was prophesized to deliver an end to Eternal Winter that kept ravaging the lands and devouring its inhabitants in order to satiate the hunger of the one known as Lich. As the power of Njord weakened having suffered first frostbitten leaves on the outskirts of the forest, a cry for help rode the winds in hope to be answered by a prodigious child known as Windrunner. Yet, by the time Windrunner came, there was little left of the ancient nature's sanctuary - it's inhabitants were slumbering in crystals cold as the Deadly Abyss itself, while the trees stood there, withered, their tears now resembling the most beautiful of sapphires. Lyralei could feel her own heart freezing over, as if the Lich himself had ripped it out and held it in his chilblained hand. She fell to her knees in front of the ancient Hearth that was still resisting the corrupting influence of Lich's immense power, its seed pulsating, beating like the heart of a newborn. Lyralei, feeling that she had failed Mother Nature in saving her children from such undeserved and gruesome fate, cried out a tear of pure innocence, remorse and sympathy, which fell onto the Hearth unhindered by Lich's vile influence. This tear was all that took for the pulsating seed in the Hearth to bloom rapidly, defying harsh conditions and the will of coldblooded undead sorcerer, revitalizing the forest and its denizens and bringing relief to the long suffering lands in its vicinity. As a token of Njord's eternal gratitude and the fulfillment of the ancient prophecy, the Hearth presented its savior with royal regalia befitting the daughter of Mother Nature - let it be known that the one bestowed with the Gift of Njord will bring an end to Eternal Winter, ushering the world into Waes'Na - the Age of Everlasting Spring.
