The week following the sacking of the Tahlin castle was filled with constant celebrations for the usurpers. On one particularly dark night when a raucous party was being held on the royal grounds, Rikimaru saw his chance. For the time being, he could accept the fact that his family had been massacred and his home taken away. What he could not accept was the idea that the traitors felt safe in their new fortress. The young Tahlin and his late siblings had known every inch of those grounds from years of exploration and play. Riki made his way to a hidden crevice in the back of the castle walls. Inside the tiny, winding passageway was a direct route to the king's quarters. The few men that were guarding the core of the castle stood no chance against him, leaving Riki just enough time to gather up a few priceless Tahlin heirlooms and make his way out the back once again. That was the last night that the betrayers spent celebrating. They now knew the chilling truth; confirmation that the last Tahlin monarch was still out there, watching from the shadows.
