Atlas Oct 15 @ 3:38am
Also, how do you do water droplets?
Atlas Oct 15 @ 3:29am
I feel guilty breaking the perfect 111 comments, but what skybox texture did you use? I can't find a good one.

Very sad end =(
PaperTib Jul 26 @ 3:39pm
very good !

YOU STUPID WITH THE COMPANION CUBE! well i had a little trouble with the first area, but as soon as i figured out to turn the reflector cube to face the far wall instead of the one 2 inches from it the solution no longer evaded me. As for the 2nd part, it was kind of like =(BL)= Natsuke said, I messed around with the laser a bit, and then ended up happening on the solution faster than i thought i was going to. 8/10
=(BL)= Natsuke Jul 16 @ 9:05am
I was messing around with the lasers, and kinda happened to stumble upon the solution by accident
Jun 1 @ 5:51pm
Both the first one and the second one.
Jun 1 @ 5:50pm
I love the "twist" ending.

...what can I say to sum this map up in one word?...fantasmagorical!!!!!!!!!... well done... brilliant stuff... I didn't expect it to end like that... just awesome my friend... cheers.

You scared me :)
TheDarkMuffin Mar 15 @ 12:39am
Perfect. Hard enough that I enjoy solving and it takes a considerable amount of time and thought, but not so hard that I ever get stuck. In the Portal 2 documentary, they talk about this sweet spot of difficulty, and you've reached it. Well done.
xXThE_BESTXx Mar 2 @ 12:29am
andrew2831 hi is using the hammer editor
rob Feb 28 @ 1:04pm
Really brilliant stuff. Difficulty is definitely up there!
CyanShibou Jan 1 @ 5:00am
How does he make the ruins? I cannot figure out how to add scenery like that.

Nice medium difficulty puzzles. Did enjoy the false ending.
AD_79 Aug 18, 2013 @ 1:55pm
Good puzzles, had to think about the first one for a bit, but the second one was a little too easy. Thumbs up.

LoneWolf, if you also have time to play levels, I'd appreciate if you could give me some feedback on mine -- "East-West Hopscotch":

It's my first level, but well-tested, in solid shape. But you'll probably think that I've got some nerve calling your level "a little one-story" after you see mine! :-)

Thanks.
LoneWolf2056  [author] Jul 4, 2013 @ 6:50am
@ProfDave64 Thanks, im actually making a sequel series to this at the minute and as odd as it is, this was only the 2nd ever hammer map I made, (I went back to make Part 0 xD ) So I still had a lot to learn about making good puzzles, I try to keep a good variety of elements as you play through the series, some flinging later on xD
ProfDave64 Jul 4, 2013 @ 12:47am
I just read all the comments. Apparently, I received the benefits of everyone else's playtesting and feedback, because the level I played was pretty sweet!

I can think of some general ideas / suggestions, but I don't know if you're even still making levels, so I'm not sure you need them. But, okay, here's one:

There's no questioning your awesome design, surprises, etc., but the puzzles felt a little... "one story?" At a couple points, I felt like I was walking around on a single floor, barely using portals at all other than to line up lasers.

But the rest of the awesomeness easily makes up for that details. And Dilapidation 0 showed that you have no trouble with jumps and heights and the joys of portal-flying!

Thumbs up!
PR1NC355 Jun 21, 2013 @ 4:29pm
ignore the haters - cuz this is a grate map
Ravoria Jun 3, 2013 @ 8:46am
Second room had to be the most ridiculous cube placement move I've ever done (I set it through a portal to get it lined up properly, and it was still mostly luck
Extragamer Jun 3, 2013 @ 12:27am
Nice map.And good puzzle!
PsychoBR May 18, 2013 @ 8:10pm
Awesome puzzle! Greate Hammer work! Congrats! Thumbs up!
I recorded my gameplay (valve DEM file format):Download[dl.dropboxusercontent.com]. Comments inside video.

Turrets highly explosive. Handle with care
henpitts May 13, 2013 @ 2:55pm
Once I'm through the door with the companion cube inside. Did I win or did I die??
Bayram May 8, 2013 @ 7:53pm
Very nice, thumbs up! I found this less difficult than Part 0 (I didn't have to cheat and look at the solution video) and so agree with the "Medium/Hard Difficulty" rating.
sockpuppetcow May 7, 2013 @ 6:59pm
lord_blex: That is indeed an interesting way to solve that room. Lol, creative though.

LoneWolf2056: Amazing map just like Part 0. On to Part 2!
wildgoosespeeder May 7, 2013 @ 9:36am
The first room of this map was good but the second room I just don't care for "laser webs" or "activate all laser relays that line-up crookedly BWAHAHAHA" tests. Those kind of tests I just try to get creative and attempt pixel perfect line-up just to get through not caring what the real solution is.
NiclO (- - ) Mar 22, 2013 @ 2:36am
Great map! Cheers!
mikemoody Mar 19, 2013 @ 3:48pm
OK it took a lot of thought on my part. The F5 button sure helps. But patients pays off in the end. Yeessss I made it, and it makes you feel real good too. Now for #2, :) Well I mean Part 2 of the series.
lord_blex Mar 3, 2013 @ 11:17am
really nice atmosphere. the puzzles were a bit hard for me, but I might just be going through a phase :P
I solved the first one a bit interestingly[skydrive.live.com] :P
Also, i found some glitches[skydrive.live.com]. (Steam doesn't want to upload my screenshots..)
Pilchardo Mar 1, 2013 @ 11:16am
Wow. Amazing. This chamber is seriously beautiful. Inspires me to get better at Hammer.
craigbrophy Feb 25, 2013 @ 5:32pm
These are amazing puzzles! Only done 0 and 1 so far and am looking forward to completing the rest! Nicely done!
LoneWolf2056  [author] Feb 24, 2013 @ 4:52am
@λportal nerd Yea thats correct (though you can aim at the other wall too) and thanks, hope you enjoy the rest of the series
Portλl Nerd Feb 23, 2013 @ 5:09pm
You continue to amaze me with these fantastic puzzles.
I'm not sure if I did the first test correctly

The presentation is outstanding! Puzzles are challenging without being unreasonable as well. Keep it up! :)

Excellent

Sorry it was to try to help align the portal cause the laser can be annoying to line up, im planning to update all my maps so I will change that, thanks for the video and good solution, different to how I did it.

Hmm in the first puzzle you prevent a valid solution be having a portal placed fixed to locations left and right from the position I need. The hole wall is white therefore portaluseable. Don't know why you did that.
LoneWolf2056  [author] Nov 4, 2012 @ 4:23pm
Thanks, looks like a nice skybox if i can get it working, I am planning an updated release of all my maps now I am a little better at Hammer and I have some new map ideas I will hopefully have out out by the end of the year, I am taking a little break from mapping at the minute though :p
Carl123 Nov 3, 2012 @ 4:37pm
Hey! I played it and I had tons a fun. I only have 1 suggestion. And I really hope you get back to me on this one because it would make your map more realistic. You should use a custom skybox that I am going to put in one of my maps. If you want to use it the link is here:

http://gamebanana.com/css/textures/3350

(It was made for Counter-Strike Source but it works on all Source games)

Put it in: Steam/Steamapps/common/Portal 2/Portal2/materials/ Create a folder here and call it skybox. Put it in the folder.
:)

took a while to get myself to the other side after the door was open XD. And you scare the hell out of me at that end part.
machmanx Oct 20, 2012 @ 8:58pm
Wow you really enjoy making us fall, don't you? :D But that is what's so exciting! It's like you're making this hopeless drama where even a glimmer of hope gets us deeper into the hole :o The laser puzzle was challenging but solved it once I saw that there was a 2nd laser cube, lol. Keep it up!
LPChip Oct 15, 2012 @ 8:56am
Good map. I had trouble getting the laserpuzzle solved, because, due to bad lightning, I only saw one cube. When I finally saw the other one, I had it solved in no time.
Le Petit Mort Oct 11, 2012 @ 10:59am
Pros:
• Great use of ruined-aesthetic;
• Interesting puzzle;
• Laser puzzle!
• That other thing...

Cons:
• Laser puzzle, if you're like me;
• Missing the button that lowers the grill;
• Companion-Cube was kinda a giveaway;

Thoughts:
Pretty damned great
The level alone would've been enough for a recommendation, being a well constructed and designed puzzle... and then the other thing. Good stuff.
