I was confused because somehow I thought I have to use a lightbridge-portal in the middle and not just a regular one - for the lightbridge portal I would have had to use a cube (for the stairs to get up to the lightbridge), but this wouldn't work of course, since you need to take one cube with you and use one for the rail platform =)

I feel so good to have finished this.

Fantastic map. This is probably the best use of rail platforms I've ever seen. The solution is amazing. The thing I love about this map is the way you force the player to think first about what they have to do, rather than letting them experiment ideas through direct interaction. Thumbs up, it's a favourite!
gamecreator Mar 4 @ 12:25pm
LOL. I just skipped a level because I wanted something simpler. And I knew as soona s I saw Mevious's name that I went the exact opposite direction. Well, let's see how this goes....

So this is the only map by you I hadn't played yet. I tried it before, but had to quit in shame and exhaustion because SOMEHOW I managed to miss the fact that one of the weighted buttons open that little sideroom for which the antline is CLEARLY RIGHT THERE. So that was 40 minutes of me trying to figure it out without that as I had written it off for later. Any future player: DO NOT DO THAT. You probably won't as again it's RIGHT THERE. So retrying this, with that out of the way, everything is relatively easy up until both cubes are retrieved, after which I say the difficulty is about medium. Again a nice puzzle, thought the solution was going to be harder to perform than it was.

I have come back to re-play this chamber at least half a dozen times. And it's so expertly crafted that I have to figure out how to do it all over again each time (obviously, it's easier each time - but this is a nice complex puzzle for replay value).

Ingenious !! Are there similar maps like this?
Brenden1130 Nov 26, 2016 @ 12:50pm
This is by far the best map I've played, and I loved the little touch of increasing the music intensity as you progressed through the puzzle. The map is just so amazing, I don't even know what to say. xD
PixelPerfect Oct 23, 2016 @ 9:42am
That's my favorite puzzle you've made so far! Thumbs up and favorited!

Continued: A test to see if you're truly worthy of "Expert" status.
zigzagtenniscoe Aug 30, 2016 @ 7:49pm
Wow. This has to be one of the best maps I've played in a while. Really original look and feel to the chamber, great Hammer work. Very well put together test as well! It really trains you to look at what you don't need in the solution anymore and put that to your advantage to success. I played this one before, half and hour in and I couldn't figure out for the life of me what I was missing. Another half hour here where I actually got somewhere, so around an hour in total. Difficulty is difficult people! Not super ultra hard difficult, more of an intermediate-advanced difficult. Coming from someone with 1900+ hours on Portal, so trust me when I say this is a difficult test mainly for the experts!
Talisac Aug 19, 2016 @ 2:12am
Great map, but curiously... wasn't that hard. I remember Crawler, or even Remorse to be harder. I didn't think I had many choices and steps looked pretty obvious. But it is a really well designed puzzle with cool mecanisms, and I enjoyed my run! Blind run [www.dropbox.com]
KubeKing Jul 1, 2016 @ 9:11am
I've consistenly come back to Resurrection as one of the hardest and one of the best custom chambers I've ever completed. The hours of brain-stretching work are worth it. Absolutely top-notch, and a must-play for any so-called-expert puzzle solver.
snowhog Jun 10, 2016 @ 2:16pm
This one really challenged me! I had to come back to it several times over many days before I got it; particularly getting the ball out of the room! Very nicely done.
lfairban Apr 18, 2016 @ 3:41pm
Excellent! I hope these maps are easier to create than they are to figure out, but I don't see how they could be. (I noticed the three doors were all open at once at one point. Sort of reminded me of a shotgun cabin. :))
Petutski Apr 18, 2016 @ 3:19pm
Played this map about 2 years ago. Excellent map! Still great. Needed help back then, but this time worked it out! This is one of my all time favorites! Looks like Mevious has not done many maps since then. Please do some more! Thanks!
spleegan Mar 27, 2016 @ 3:40am
This one was definitely hard almost as hard as Crawler (Advanced).
SpielSatzFail Feb 28, 2016 @ 3:23am
Wow. Just wow. That map exactly hits the right relation between being clueless/overchallenged at first, but being motivated at the same time :-)
It seems to be very hard at first, turns out it is, but you make your way with tiny steps, which are all possible without knowing anything special. All logic. Thanks for that beautifully designed map!
keur Jan 27, 2016 @ 5:52pm
Fun map. I agree with @WK2Trailhawk that it's overwhelming at first. Take it one objective at a time and the map is fairly straightfoward. 6.5/10 difficulty.
GrtWhtBuf Jan 20, 2016 @ 1:02pm
Mevious you are devilish indeed. Yet another classic.
WK2Trailhawk Jan 18, 2016 @ 10:26pm
This map was a bit overwelming at first. Took some time just to figure out the room and where to start. Almost gave up at the end but decided to take a break and return with a fresh mind. Even with a fresh outlook I was still stumped. Just as I was about to give up and go to a walk-through, I decided to try one last portal menuver. That's when all the pieces started to fall into place. One minor hint. I really thought that speed and timing was really going to play a major factor on the moving platforms. Fortunately for me for that was not really the case. As others have commented earlier, it's more about logically thinking this one through.
gansovski :D Jan 7, 2016 @ 4:37pm
Dude, your maps are insanely awesome. I've solved a lot of them, this one was specially awesome. Thank you.
FUCK MY LIFE CSGOHunt.com Dec 17, 2015 @ 11:40am
Materpiece ! I dont know if you are still making maps, but if are not, please come back :)
You are such a genius,i enjoyed a lot all your maps i have played.
CHI LONG QUA Jun 29, 2015 @ 2:12am
One of the toughest maps to beat out there
Nothing but logical thinking involved, not timing or anything like that required. Such a great feeling once completed.
Please make more maps like this !!!
Don Piano May 9, 2015 @ 7:31am
Great map as always, Mevious.

Think I glitched the three doors in the back right room, however. Was toying with them and their respective button/pad when I suddenly noticed all three were open somehow.

Cut my time to less than a half hour to solve.

Lots of this in console:

*** ERROR: logic_relay p1_door_01-open has been triggered but is awaiting refire. OUTPUTS WILL NOT BE FIRED!!!

Mercy6 Mar 22, 2015 @ 5:38am
Very hard to figure it out. Thanks for this map <3
WooWoo Nov 3, 2014 @ 8:07pm
I absolutely love your maps. I have had severa of your maps in my queue for months. I randomly decided to play the other day, and was glad to find so many wonderful maps already queued up. This map was a real challenge and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you!
Requiemsoul Aug 29, 2014 @ 12:01pm
One of your best maps. Added to favorites.
Petutski Aug 26, 2014 @ 2:32pm
Excellent logic and adventure! The look and feel of these chambers reminded me of a cloistered monastery! (Yes... I've been there). Beautifully done. For me the secret was in remembering that a sphere can somtimes hold down a button pad. Does not always work.
DarthClide Jul 16, 2014 @ 12:05am
Such a brilliant map. I love it when I can solve these with no hints :)
nuryk2002 Jul 9, 2014 @ 8:51pm
Meviously wonderful

Wonderful, a piece of pure thinking with an excellent structure.

I added your map to my new Anthology of community-made gems (an ongoing WIP). You can see it here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=192138122 . Thank you for making this map!
tu7650x Mar 15, 2014 @ 4:08pm
This is the best Mevious puzzle so far. No ninja, just pure problem solving logic. Took me a good while to figure it out. Since I had the map visually memorized, I went to bed and worked it out in my mind before I fell asleep. Always works for me: I woke up this morning and solved it. I love your puzzles Mevious, keep them coming.

I think Valve ought to make a Portal 3 and they should hire you as the head map designer. No doubt in my mind you have what it takes for the job.
quaternary Mar 7, 2014 @ 4:18pm
A very interesting map - and I'm not even done yet! Looooooove the ceiling of the main room.

Thanks for getting rid of the quick timing solution. I was getting confused by that.
Mevious  [author] Feb 25, 2014 @ 4:31pm
I added a walkthrough for those interested. The quick timing on platforms solution is unintended and I'll put out a fix soon to remove it. Thanks for the comments.
Kbeam Jan 26, 2014 @ 10:44am
Not the very typical Mevious puzzles (looking simple but in fact very hard), i.e. it does look complicated from the beginning. Still, enjoyed it a lot!
LoneWolf2056 Jan 19, 2014 @ 1:18pm
That was pretty tough, hard initially trying to figure out what to even start with, excellent map.
Ciirulean Dec 18, 2013 @ 2:51pm
Great map, took me a while, but I solved it.
𝓛𝓟𝓒𝓱𝓲𝓹 Dec 5, 2013 @ 11:06am
This is a very hard chamber indeed. Logic wise, and also a bit ninja wise. The moving panels puzzle at the end: when you first make the right panel go away, then get it back and get on, it is a tight window to get it done, and the fact that the cube will not be put away very quickly after moving makes it really hard to do that right.

Way to go. :) Unfortunately something went wrong with my recording, otherwise you'd get a blind-run recording too.
Snoodaard Oct 16, 2013 @ 10:34am
Very nice puzzle, I solved it the intented way but its also possible to let both faith plates move simultaneously and if your quick you can jump on the one that goes all the way to the back. Shouldnt be that hard to fix.
Baked Goods Sep 11, 2013 @ 11:06pm
It took me way too long to notice the portable panel above the moving platform on the right. GREAT MAP, VERY DIFFICULT
gotredonyou Sep 8, 2013 @ 8:12am
Fun test! Enjoyed it.
HushMonk Aug 20, 2013 @ 1:51pm
Fantastic! BTW, the timing for the platforming is more than sufficient, even for my clumsy control. Also, this is challenging but there are harder maps around...
devek1001 Aug 13, 2013 @ 12:22am
could you remake dyad too please? it was fun and i'd be really happy to play it again in portal 2
Walther Aug 11, 2013 @ 8:29am
Absolutely brilliant. Had me in despair for a while, but that just made finally solving it so much more satisfying.

Little hint: If you think absurdly fast timing is required to solve this... then you're doing it wrong.
Denominator Aug 3, 2013 @ 4:16pm
Excellent work Mevious!! This is a very tricky puzzle due to the unusual timed devices, but very well done.

I did not have trouble with the timing of the platforms, however I completely forgot about the portal wall above the first moving platform, since you can't see it until you step off the platform - that had me scratching my head for a while =)
