My palm trees are recolored default palms, the later tree mods do also reposition most trees a little so they look more scattered.
You can subscribe to this mod AND any other tree mod. Just give the tree mod(s) a higher priority.
I thought about new plams, but I really like the default ones, so I never worked on new ones.
Here's link if you care to take a look.

Steam will then download the mod and AoE will install it at the next game start.
:)
You would have to do it manually.
Every mods modfile (van be found in your mods folder) can be opened with winrar/7zip.
Extract it somewhere. It has the same folder structure as your AoE game directory. So whilst the same files are changed you can overwrite them whenever you want without deleting some files.
While I do this all the time, I reckon this isn't that easy without some knowledge about the change files. And it can't be done ingame. You have to shut down AoE to do so.
