So simple and yet so challenging. As portal puzzles should be imo. Took me about an hour an 15 minutes. Probably one of my top favorites..

nice map, solved in less than 1 h and a lot of coffee

I enjoyed this so much, I came back and played it again the day after I solved it. I then built a tribute map to it: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=455785162 My version is a COMPLETE hat-tip to Azorae's Solitude. I have mirror-flipped the map, though, and have added one little something for those of you who would like to try this again, only a little harder. I promise, everything is still completely visible and accessible. No secrets, no surprises.

Add me to the list of people who worked on this for several days and then finally solved it. The amazing part is that there's nothing hidden; you can clearly see every element and know exactly what it does. Once you've solved it, you have nobody to blame but yourself for taking so long to figure it out. In other words, it's a perfect puzzle!

very clever puzzle, took me over a week doing it for about half an hour each day.

One of the most mind blowing maps I've ever played.

That Ace Ryder told me to play this, I'm going to go murder him now. 7/10

one of the best maps i've ever played. I found the key to this chamber after 7 days i first tried to play in it.

Ellegant!

Brilliant map. I have solved it eventually tonight after a lot of thinking.
neco May 24, 2014 @ 7:25am
Seriously - I don't know for how many times I've tried this one now! Still unable to solve....and honestly, I have no clue.........it is very hard to resist to watch a solution vid and feel like a total idiot.......:)
What am I missing here??? No, don't say anything! Hasn't been the right stuff to distract me from my written exams............feel so stupid again......
Great mapping and obviously great puzzle!!! Thanky for mapping - One day I swear.......;)

Really great map. The only thing that bothered me was the sound, had to turn off my headphones to be able to think properly, other than that it was perfect!
Almisuifre Jul 10, 2013 @ 6:55pm
Typical kind of test refusing to give player the solution until his mind open to see how easy it was and how playful logic is ^^
Geneosis Jul 5, 2013 @ 1:14pm
I don't get why people have problem with goo here... You are not supposed to fly over goo or even to use the funnel over it (only a bit at the end)... Good remake anyway ^^

Nice map, dude, almost felt myself extremely stupid.
kimist108 May 16, 2013 @ 7:14pm
Nasty goo. Glad I played the Original first. Solved that one the not-intended way. But, it helped me with this one, once I got over the goo. :)
Ricardo Rodriguez May 6, 2013 @ 4:48am
This is the most difficult chamber I've tried. I gave up and watched part of a solution video, and still couldn't solve. I had to watch the whole video twice. It's so simple once you know the solution, but it would have taken me so long to figure it out.
baphomet Apr 21, 2013 @ 10:13am
Having solved this one I now realize I solved the original one incorrectly. (The goo does make a huge difference.) Even more of a triumph!
atommalac Mar 31, 2013 @ 9:44am
Holy grandmother of mindfuck, this was one of the hardest maps I've ever completed! It took me hours now to finally complete it, and I've struggled with it several times before, with no luck. What I don't understand is how the hell is this only 4/5 and only 181 ratings? Anyways, thank you for the top quality challenge, and I hope you'll continue making these amazing maps.
hippisa Mar 20, 2013 @ 7:50am
A masterpiece. Amazing.

Briliant puzzle. Great design. Highly recommended map. Due to quality I need to check out more of your releases. Many thanks for tremendous work
Zomby Woof Jan 31, 2013 @ 4:47pm
This may very well be the most difficult map I've played, and yet it is also one if the simplest. This work of genius deserves thousands more subscribers.
hannoman, the paper tiger Jan 30, 2013 @ 5:34pm
Woah, HOLY SHIT. I hereby name Solitude the queen of portal maps (so far ;))! Great job!!! Personal difficulty: 5/5 of course, atm it feels like it was the hardest ever (and i solved all of Mevious'). I think this could serve as a prime example, how complex portal 2 can get with only a few elements. I normally dont give much on custom art, but Solitude definitively deserves it! :)
Keep it up!

Incredible!!! My brain is exploding

Thank you for this masterpiece of a puzzle. Thumbs up. http://youtu.be/3ZbhWoS19XM

Yeah, you and Mevious are amazing. I discovered Mevious first, but I'm so glad I follow two very good authors.
Azorae  [author] Dec 14, 2012 @ 10:14pm
I'd say that I still have a fair amount to learn from Mevious, although we enjoy each other's work and have stumped each other a few times!
AgentFire Dec 14, 2012 @ 9:47am
You do puzzles better than Mevious. Marry me.
ptron Dec 7, 2012 @ 1:06pm
Fiendishly difficult yet a simple design. In a word, elegant. Made me feel like I failed the I.Q. test until I finally made it out.
KennKong Dec 6, 2012 @ 2:09pm
Yet another hard to see but easy to do puzzle. I'll get around to adding this series to my favorites collection soon. Azorae's Solitude solution

I like this more than the original standard version. Great dilapidation!
Vert Nov 28, 2012 @ 5:06pm
wow. you make me feel like an idiot
Azorae  [author] Nov 27, 2012 @ 8:59pm
The layout came first and it borrows heavily from Mevious' " Push " as it works very well for the idea of the puzzle (making a laser that is accessible only from one side of the chamber, but easily visible and usable) From there, I drew up a set of steps I wished to have for the intended solution, but that gave way to experimentation and I found a much better version of the puzzle after playtesting some small changes. Once the puzzle was finalized, I redid the chamber in Hammer to match the scale and layout but give myself more aesthetic freedom.
Ace Ryder Nov 27, 2012 @ 7:54pm
@Azorae Oh my God. This is an amazing map. It's so ingenious. How did you come up with it? Like did you start with the layout of the map or specific puzzles?
steve2a2000 Nov 24, 2012 @ 8:24am
WOW. I have been playing portal 2 for a long time now and this is my first review. This puzzle took me a couple of hours to complete and is a first class example of simplicity and deviousness. What a great map. I knew it would be a challenge after reading Mevious took an hour to complete it and I have played all of his maps and completed all of them. Looking forward to more from you Azorea :).
Sickleberry Fapsauce Nov 23, 2012 @ 9:15am
Wow.. such a simple design but convoluted solution. I love it, cheers man!
Minus Nov 12, 2012 @ 9:48am
I thank you for this amazing and very intelliget map !
I will play all the rest of your uploaded maps soon !
Gasher Nov 10, 2012 @ 1:43pm
Very, very nice indeed!.. great -- I repeat, great use of one room!.. and quite challenging, even for someone who considers himself a bit of a smarty-pants. I demand you go make more.. now - exactly (but different.. duh) like this!! And keep with Destroyed style please.. that is by far my favorite. Jizz.
Neksus Nov 7, 2012 @ 8:51am
sorry

Great job. The soundscape is fully functional now.
Azorae  [author] Nov 5, 2012 @ 5:51pm
Soundscape and cubemaps should be fully functional now.
Azorae  [author] Nov 5, 2012 @ 4:48pm
Ah, I just had an env_soundscape entity. I'll try to get it set up correctly now.
p0rtalmaster Nov 5, 2012 @ 4:27pm
On second thought, it's probably just my computer, regarding the visual design.
p0rtalmaster Nov 5, 2012 @ 4:24pm
Couldn't really tell that there was less foliage (looked like there wasn't). Metal frames and pipes are often a better way to make the ceiling look less empty (check out some of Valve's chapter 2 maps to see what I mean), and even then a mostly empty ceiling isn't too terrible.

For the soundscape I couldn't really tell that you had added one. You'll need both a trigger_soundscape and an env_soundscape_triggerable by the entrance doorway to make it work.
Desuta Nov 5, 2012 @ 9:00am
Great job!
