Update 2017/06/20 - Optional Normal Map added

Since the UMP was introduced 16 years ago I’ve shunned it in favour of the MP5, or tec-9 / five-seven in CSGO. The fire rate was on the awkward side of slow, and five less rounds meant I would reload sooner than I expected - and what a slow reload it used to have! But recently I’ve been experimenting with a middle-buy between pistols and rifles and finally discovered the weapons saving graces.

A few weeks ago there was a reddit post that the UMP lacked decent skins, and the under-representation of bright/warm hued skins made me consider it as a prime candidate for a ‘Tiger moth’ Skin. In figuring out the best way to apply the design I have made some changes borne out of the predefined constraints. Whereas the Krieg had a non-metallic area in the forestock - the UMP has it in the rear - hence I’ve reversed the pattern process with orange/black in the front.

The spots were placed and checked against perspective view and strategically situated over the AO overlay details. Also the middle strip appears slightly mis-aligned in side view to compensate for the offset depth when viewed in player POV mode.

Wear has been carefully tweaked over the first few stages so that FN is close to pristine, MW loses the front rail and front handle, the mag wears next through the wide FT state along with some wear on the rear stock - but only the brown areas so that there is still visible shapes through the latter wear-states. To be consistent with the SG the metallic area colour just becomes dark and grungy.

I’m really happy with the final result as it's very bold and fun looking in the same spirit as the SG. Let me know what you think below!
