Fidoc's Doom

Description
Fidoc's Doom is a single character adventure, based exclusively on reflection and exploration.

Investigate ruins, unearth treasures, decipher codes, disarm traps, solve puzzles, decrypt scrolls, activate mechanisms, answer riddles, explore mazes, open locks, discover secrets... and reverse an ancient prophecy.

0% combat: weapons and gear are almost useless in this game. While you may still be killed by monsters, you will neither be able to challenge nor slay them. To overcome your foes, you'll need to avoid their sight and act as subtle as you can.

This adventure is set mainly indoors, after an initial outdoor area.

Don't try to customize your characters before launching the game, nor create a team of your own: at the start of the game, everything will be reset. No matter your choices, you'll start with a lonely FEMALE KNIGHT. This is part of the storyline.


First official release: October 2016.

Hi everybody
I updated the game today to fix a bug causing the game to crash when quicksaving in level -3 (Havotep's vault).
Sorry to those of you who suffered from this bug. Now it's over :)

Hi yotam, it's fixed! I'm not sure whether you need to unsubscribe and subscribe again to the mod, or if it'll update itself automatically. Anyway, as I said, this pit is only here to make you realize how deep the catacombs are (you fall down through all levels)... but at the cost of your life. You'd better just ignore it :)

@yotam: you're right, just checked it and had the same issue. anyway, this pit is not meant to be used (you die if you fall into, as the sign warns you). I'll update the game tonight but you can safely play right now, just don't fall into the pit again ;) sorry for the inconvenience.

A million thanks to Dr Chuckles who toroughly tested the new version several times and patiently recorded every remaining bug.

It's done: the "reset mechanism" for Havotep's statuettes puzzle is in place. And every other changes I told you about are as well.
Just tell me when you're ready to test the 1.1 version (it's not public yet)

I usually rate the dungeons once i'm done with them, I've been busy the last couple days so I'm only about half way through the last floor, but I doubt the end will ruin it for me ;) so I'll go ahead and give you a rating. And sure, I'll play again with an updated version. It wouldn't take nearly as long since I know most of the answers already and I can more formally keep track of any tweaks or critiques I find (which I enjoy (obviously, just look what I did unsolicited :) ))

P.S.: sorry for my bad english, it's not my native tongue. But I got the entire game proof-read by an american teacher, so the in-game texts should be ok.
