Automatic Doors

Makes all doors open and close automatically!

You come home from a hard and hefty farming day, and then there is it. The door. Doesn't it bother you to ever press that E button open it? Fear no more, citizen, for convenience is here!

This mod makes all doors in the game (all that rely onto doors.lua actually) automatic. This means you'll be able to just walk straight forward against a door and it will open and close without your consent!
Though you should probably be careful when there are monsters at your door, as you will open the door now when you come too close...
It also open automatically ONLY for players, NPCs still have to use doors manually and monsters still can't open them.
Though NPCs also close the doors automatically behind them now, which means that you no longer have to worry that monsters might slip into your house! (Though it is not 100% foolproof if a monster stands right next to the door when the NPC opens it)
Doors should also behave as normal doors when they are locked or wired, wiring a door disables automatic mode while dewiring one enables it again.
If a door behaves funky after you downloaded a new version, walk through it and away from it once and see that the NPCs do the same, also be sure to reload your game!

In case of issues: If you are getting stuck, like in a mission, you can open the chat and type "/admin" followed by "/settileprotection 0 false". This allows you to destroy blocks. Set it to true again after you got through the faulty door so you don't lose the experience. And report the issue to me :)

It is highly recommended that you use the Enemies aren't stupid! mod:
It revamps NPC AI so they can actually use horizontal doors without getting stuck in a loop. Most issues regarding NPC's can be solved by using this mod!

Also if you recognize any bugs, or have any wishes or future ideas, please feel free to report them to me (us rather), I will try to fix them then.

Sorry, damn. I came into this with the wrong mindset, and made a complete rookie error, and wasted your time. I never installed the mod correctly, and never properly checked that any other mods were working. It works fine, so long as you actually do things right.

yes, please check the log carefully, and check in the small cog-icon in the bottom right (on your server obv) if the mod is actually loaded. Be sure to properly unpack the mod (the .pak file needs to be in the /mods folder) and that you have the latest versions. Else check the logfile (located in your Starbound storage folder) for Error or Warning issues and post relevant ones. We can help but we need more information than "it does not work". If you want a more in-depth discussion, there is always the forum thread on the starbound forums.

In which case...I have no idea why.

You said the log doesn't produce any errors, but does the log indicate that this mod has indeed been loaded?

Well, it's a dedicated server, so they are installed manually. I guess I turned this into 20 questions by not making my first comment more informative, sorry. Other mods are installed on the server and work fine, and they work without conflict in single-player as well.

Somehow it is still using the vanilla script aka it just isn't really loading this mod.
Possibly the server isn't configured to use workshop mods? I'm not the person to ask about server configuration. But you might have better luck manually installing it from the forums into \starbound\mods\

Also check the SB forums for threads on server configuration with mods. That would help you do it correctly.

It's a personal server, and I did install the mod, but it does not seem to work. No errors in the log, just non-functional.

The server would need to install it for multiplayer. I don't have a connection reliable enough to play and thus test multiplayer however. I can't see any reason it wouldn't work though as long as the server had it. I'm not 100% sure if clients would need it in that case or not.

It isn't like this mod affects game balance in any way so you might talk them into it. But I've heard some server admins are 100% opposed to any mods at all so results may vary.
