Description
Makes all doors open and close automatically!

Last update: v3.5 -big code rewrite by bk3k, check the changelogs for details

You come home from a hard and hefty farming day, and then there is it. The door. Doesn't it bother you to ever press that E button open it? Fear no more, citizen, for convenience is here!

This mod makes all doors in the game (all that rely onto doors.lua actually) automatic. This means you'll be able to just walk straight forward against a door and it will open and close without your consent!
Though you should probably be careful when there are monsters at your door, as you will open the door now when you come too close...
It also open automatically ONLY for players, NPCs still have to use doors manually and monsters still can't open them.
Though NPCs also close the doors automatically behind them now, which means that you no longer have to worry that monsters might slip into your house! (Though it is not 100% foolproof if a monster stands right next to the door when the NPC opens it)
Doors should also behave as normal doors when they are locked or wired, wiring a door disables automatic mode while dewiring one enables it again.
If a door behaves funky after you downloaded a new version, walk through it and away from it once and see that the NPCs do the same, also be sure to reload your game!

In case of issues: If you are getting stuck, like in a mission, you can open the chat and type "/admin" followed by "/settileprotection 0 false". This allows you to destroy blocks. Set it to true again after you got through the faulty door so you don't lose the experience. And report the issue to me :)

Also if you recognize any bugs, or have any wishes or future ideas, please feel free to report them to me (us rather), I will try to fix them then.

Great for convience, but it makes situations where doors need to stay up very annoying, like when lights are being kept on by a door being open.

There's really no fix for this, but just thought I'd mention it.

I have no idea what you are talking about, but any object that uses a different script than the vanilla door script won't work. This replaces the vanilla script for doors, so that's why.

-10/10, does not include pecklesteiner doors.

I'm sorry to say, but I am no longer really investend into Starbound modding and you shouldn't count on any additions, unless bk3000 adds them. I will still try to keep it working with the base game and most mods, but that's all.

Well the default mode is radius detection. Scan boxes are supported, but the door would have to be set to use it. Which I suppose isn't something you can easily change with vanilla doors - short of custom spawn commands anyhow.

I feel like the it needs an update where the doors open when youre closer to them, and if youre on the same tile level as the door.

currently a good workaround is to use the wired sensors. I am not sure though about this little detail. I have the Avali mod and Frakin Universe mods and the Avali patches and what not so I do not know if that has any effect either. Thought I'd throw that info out there though.

I'll check their doors out, but if they use their own script then that would be why.

Hmm mod works pretty well with most custom races though I have noticed that Avali ship doors don't auto open with this mod install.
