Description
Hi, welcome to Recruitable Prisoners!

This mod gives you the ability to recruit captured prisoners that you disarm. You can try as many times as you like, however the chance to join is low, and many have specific conditions to fufill before you can recruit them. The mod will also make some races playable on a new game, as a result of allowing them to be recruited.
There should be about a 1 hour cooldown between most recruit attempts in in game time.
This mod uses almost all original dialogue with hopefully decent variety and writing structure. If there's any typos/grammatical errors or the like, feel free to inform me!

For a changelog of recent updates, please see the change notes on the right. Mod will be updated on the 28th of every month, and sometimes will get a mini update on the 14th. Known Bugs
- New recruits will sometimes not get food from storage automatically- save and reload to fix.
- Turret gunners may shoot at new recruits - save and reload to fix
- Crossbow users may shoot at new recruits - save and reload to fix
- Kidnapped tag may stay after recruitment - pick the character up and put them back down to clear

FAQ

Q . How do I use this mod?
You will need to have prisoner cages built within your base to use this. Once you have some, find an NPC you want to capture and is usable in the mod, knock them out or attack them until they're unconscious, then take them to your cage and talk to them when they're awake. Follow the dialogue tree and fufill what they need to recruit them to have them join you.

Q . Is <NPC> in the mod?
Any and all NPCs that are recruitable within the mod will be on the progress sheet, which you can find here.[docs.google.com] I'm not going to answer comments that ask this, so check the sheet if you want to know!

Q . I can't find an NPC in the spreadsheet. Are they recruitable?
If they're not on the sheet, they're not recruitable.

Q . I can't figure out how to recruit this NPC. Can you tell me how?

Q . Can you make this NPC recruitable?
My workflow depends on what I have inspiration to do or ideas for, but if you have a request, please post it in this subforum!

Q . I don't like how difficult this NPC is to recruit! Can you change it?
If I recieve enough feedback that something feels too difficult, or too easy, I may change things. Otherwise, you'll need to go into the FCS and tweak them to your needs.

Q . I can't recruit this NPC even though the spreadsheet says I can and I followed all the right steps. What's going on?
That's a bug! Please report it in the bugs subforum here. Please give as much detail as you can, helpful information would be; Which character didn't work, what area did you get hem from, how did the NPC bug out?

Q. I've found some typos/spelling errors! How can I let you know?

I made a skeleton only save, anti slavers to destroy UC, HN and any form of slavery, most skeletons I found (error 0xffffff, screamer, ponk, ashland skeletons etc, HN robots) worked well however, when I finally saw a P4 Unit at a bar I was overjoyed to get my hands on the very rare vanilla P4 generic recruit.
Then, I clicked on it and... no dialogue. It was a TRAP! It was just a flavour npc from the drifters faction.
So I abducted the offending P4 unit and brought it home. However, and this is what I don't understand, I stripped it bare, put it in a prison of mine and I get no option to talk to it. I have Ponk recruited so it's not a P4 only issue but I can't figure out what is wrong.
Any ideas?

Something I just found out, which feels absurd and MIGHT be coincidence: I tried soooo often to recruit someone by clicking dialogue with the mouse... never worked... done it with keyboard promts now, worked 3 times in a row... either that is the most odd luck, or there is something to it. Maybe it helps someone else.

Very buggy most of the time. I take away equipment, put in the cage, and get 1 of 3 outcomes. A thousand yard stare with no talk option, pops up only once to never return after a week, or around 1% of the time it works every time. One game I can recruit 6 berserkers over the course of a month before it breaks. Another game can give 4 sand ninjas in a single day until breaking. Other times, like my current game, it will work once and then shit the bed.

Tested on a group of empire peasants after wasting an entire week and not getting a single bite. Made a line of 8 cages and topped hunger off to see how long it would take. First one was fine with no issues (prince), but the option didn't pop up for any of the others after 5 days of waiting and most dying from starvation. Reloading, picking up and setting into new cage, freeing then attacking just to put back in, exiting the game, resetting computer, importing save and having to grab new labrats to try the same thing again. Nothing.

I want to know something. I caught a Skeleton Bamid to join my team, but I've been trying to convince a skeleton for days and nothing's happening. Any suggestions? Or can't they really be recruited?

quiero saber algo, atrape a un bamdido esquerleto para unirlo a mi equipo, pero llevo dias con un esqueleto intentando comvenerlo y no pasa nada, sugerenias?
o realmente no se pueden reclutar?
