256 Recruitment Limit

Description
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS 256, PLACE THIS MOD ON THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE LOAD ORDER

A mod to increase recruitment and squad limit.

Increases recruitable units from 30 to 256
Increases maximum members in each squad from 20 to 50
Increases maximum number of squads from 10 to 20

That's it. No hidden bee pie in this one, sorry.

**Other mods that change the same variables may interfere with this one. To make sure these are the finalized variables that Kenshi uses, please place this mod on the very bottom of the mod loading order, even if other mods ask you to place theirs on the bottom. Doing so will not cause any disruptions in the operation of other mods - It will only ensure the changes this mod makes are prioritized over other mods changing the same variable. Alternatively, if you are very familiar with all the other mods you have and are entirely certain that no other mods affect these same variables, this mod can be placed anywhere in the mod load order. If you are uncertain though, then please place this on the bottom to avoid complications.

NOTE:
This is a player recruitment mod ONLY. It does not effect npc squad spawns, numbers, or behaviors in any way.


Disclaimer: Performance!
There is a reason the game is defaulted to a maximum 30 units. Exceed maximum at your own risk.
Many have reported decreases in both fps and AI processing. This is a result of increased entities in your game world taking up more rendering and processing resources. This is normal, and there is nothing I nor this mod can do about that. There are a few things you can do to help reduce the lag, but ultimately it is up to you to find that sweet spot for yourself.

1. Import your game.
If the lag starts becoming too much, try importing your game. This will clear out a lot of the extra clutter of corpses, items, and orphaned/roaming squad units, freeing up more resources for your own squad. (NPC squads take priority with AI processing. The less of them there are, the better your Ai processing will be.)
Please note that this is a temporary remedy, and over time you may start seeing a decrease in performance again. Rinse and repeat as necessary if desired.

2. Reduce NPC squad number and npc squad size sliders.
This will reduce the amount of npc entities being processed, freeing up resources for your own squad. This is a longterm solution but may not be ideal for some people's gameplay, and may still not be enough depending on how many you recruit.

3. Reduce your own squad count.
If nothing else seems to be working, then chances are you've just simply recruited too many units. Reducing your own squad count may be the only way to aid decreases in performance.

@Aurelia very good point. I personally use re_Kenshi because I have a slightly above-average setup and I enjoy breaking the heck out of this game. But this mod is simple, effective, and absolutely terrific for what it was created to do. :steamthumbsup:

I'll stick with this mod. I don't know why people are so obsessed with alternative mods. I like my mods simple. This mod has one function and it accomplishes it. Why in Narko's sweet nipples would you want to over-complicate it with a mod that adds things you probably don't even want?

re_kenshi is a larger "patch" mod that changes various components around the kenshi settings and how it operates things. One of those things it changes is the ability to control squad size.

It also looks like it's more susceptible to breaking a bunch of things or ceasing working due to updates. I don't discourage people into looking into the mod, but it's a stretch to say it's a "replacement" especially since this mod is specifically designed to only tackle one individual thing that people may be looking for.

This mod can technically be placed anywhere if no other mods are altering these variables. I just put that there because i was getting way too many people stating that the mod was not working due to another mod overwriting this one. It is mainly just for troubleshooting purposes. It is not required, but it saves a lot of people the hassle if they just put it on the bottom.

To answer your question though, no. I do not have a collection. There are only like 3 mods I use on kenshi. This one, a hairstyle one, and a personal npc character one that is not on the workshop.

Aurreilla please tell me you have a collection lol. im looking for one funny part is 3 of them put your mod in like the first two to be loaded. funny. some dont have any order. but claim its great. ugh and vortex has no collections. except for starwars

Hi, thank you for this mod, with this one kenshi can become a city manager or even a tower defense... but there's a little problem, when have +200 characters is common need +50 squad limit, i need to set up my guards in a single squad in sonorous dark, but i can't :(

Will try the one from nexus mods, wich allow 256 recruits 256 squad limit and 256 squads itself.
