(4) Caen (Codename: Potato)

Description
On D-Day, each beachhead and army had their own objectives. The combination of British and Canadian infantry landing at Juno and Sword beaches were focussed towards the villages and towns surrounding Caen, one of the largest cities in the region. Despite rapid advances by Commando and Infantry forces in the early days of the Invasion of France, Operation after Operation failed to gain entry to Caen itself, and by the time Caen was finally encircled, a majority of the city was destroyed. On the outskirts of the city where it was first attacked by British and Canadian infantry, there was considerably less destruction, but buildings were still on the verge of collapse, roads were saturated with rubble, and the defending Wehrmacht were densely dug in. The rest of Caen would take considerably longer to liberate.

Amazingly great maps to play. Don't know how you do it, but I for one am sure glad you do.

@FastNigellan, You just need to use a little bump with the Addition Tool on the Heightmap editor. Make your Strength low and your Feather high and just click in the middle of the octagon. So long as the octagon is not set to move with the terrain, it should fill the middle nicely!

@bacon how do you create the raised ground in the middle of the octogon steps? Could use a couple map making tips from the best.. :)

@Starbuck & @Caius.Bingerus®, Many thanks for your very kind words! One of the only reasons why I still map is the vague hope that the community want to see more.

Believe me, while there is still a single fan of my work, the maps will keep coming!

I know I'm not alone when I say that when I see certain tactical maps come up on the workshop I can tell right away they're "Bacon" maps. Thanks again for consistently releasing high quality maps. It's always a great pleasure playing your work!
