Using German Voices with English Text
By Siu-King**
Are you tired of those annoying ♥♥♥♥♥♥ English voice acting with terribly fake German/Russian accent?
Do you want to use German voices or other languages with English text?
Here is a way to do that! As for other voices, in principle this method should work just as well, but you must test it out yourself.

As always, if you like this guide, please thumb up and perhaps check out My Youtube Channel !!

If you need any help with Theater of War achievements and Missions, feel free to check out my Theater of War Guide as well!

I packed some of My Best Popular in-game Videos into a guide and share it on Steam so more people can have fun watching hilarious/interesting/fun/explosive moments! Please support and check it out if you like this guide! Thanks!

Lets Change It!
This will tell you how to use German voices with English text.

1. Go to your Steam Library, Change your game into German language.
- Right click Company of Heroes 2 -> Properties -> Language.

2. Wait for the downloads to complete.

3. Now your text should be in German, we will change it back.

4. Go to your CoH 2 Directory.
- Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes 2

5. Go into the Locale folder.
- Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes 2\CoH2\Locale

6. Go into English folder, copy the RelicCoH2.English.ucs and paste it in the German folder.

7. Now in the German folder, you can delete/move the German.ucs out of it

8. Rename RelicCoH2.English.ucs into RelicCoH2.German.ucs

9. You are done.

Note: In principle this will work for other languages as well

Here are some of my videos that I recorded in game.
You can hear the German voices and read everything in English

Again if you like this guide, please thumb up and check out My Youtube Channel !!

And feel free to check out my Theater of War Guide as well.

Example: Kharkov Pursuit on General

Bridge Defense on General:

Faceoff at Rostov on General
FAQ: German for Deutsche and Russian for Soviets?
Unfortunately, there is no easy way to do it.
That does NOT mean it is not possible. (well, everything is possible)

Here is how it works. You will find all voice files under:
Company of Heroes 2\CoH2\Archives

Sound files are for everything like guns, blast etc.
Sound-Speech files are for dialogues, for Ardennes, Campaign, Theater of War, WFA & Vanilla Armies
if you use this guide, you can see English and German at the same time.

Problem: The voice pack of Vanilla/WFA armiesis merged into a single one, which means, Soviet+Ostheer is one file, OKW+USA is another.
You can have one speech for each package, ie: OKW and USA speaks English/Russian/whatever you want while Vanilla speaks German.
But not Soviet speaks Russian while Ostheer speaks German.

And of course, that also applies for campaign and stuff mentioned above. You can change the Soviet campaign voices into Russian & Ardennes in English (satisfy half your wish I guess), while leaving Multiplayer in German. But that's the limitation of the easy way.

Possibility:
Unless you can unpack it yourself and repack everything you want, the editor should be available with the modding tool, but it will be incredibly complicated and time-consuming for everyone.

And No. I can't do that for you because I'm not a programmer and I'm satisfied with funny Russians speaking German XD

Yeah but at some point you start remembering what your units are shouting. And some words (e.g. "grenade") sound very similar in the 3 languages.

reposting my old comment as it is still needed:
"7. Now in the German folder, you can delete/move the German.ucs out of it
8. Rename RelicCoH2.English.ucs into RelicCoH2.German.ucs"

thats partly true, at least for me
i had to delete the entire ENGLISH folder, in order to have russian language and english text. otherwise, working now fine.
i also had to redownload languages and verify game files.. but now it works again

I do see that native languages is way more immersive and could be a cool addition to Coh3's language options. But then it should remain to be just an option. Because the voice lines serve a purpose to alert the player to what is going on and not understanding them would prove an unfair advantage or disadvantage depending on your multilingualism. So a monolingual English guy/gal who decides to play the Wehrmacht online against another monolingual English opponent playing as the Americans would be at a disadvantage because one of the two has more knowledge of their own units statuses than the other.
