1941 Packard Super 8 Sedan

"Observer" Spy Set SFM Assets
12 items
Description
A TF2-styled Packard "Super 8" I created for some of my TF2 workshop promos.

It's usually seen in old 1920-1960's Spy movies and other film noire flicks. It comes
with a full interior, fully rigged doors, wheels, and other doodads. I modeled it with
the Soldier as a scale, trying to keep it close to its real world counterpart. I say
1941, but I sourced from about 8 different car styles across different eras.

Notes

-It's built in sections, which means you can tweak the paint/metal/chrome/etc colors
independently without editing the texture files. There are 12 materials total.

-The doors are fully-rigged, allowing opening/closing of the doors, and turning of the
interior and exterior door knobs and window rollers. The windows can be moved up and
down for window rolling or open window shots.

-The wheels can be rotated.

-The steering wheel, speedometer, gas pedal, break pedal, gear shifter, and parking
brake can be animated.

-The engine and trunk cannot be opened, simply because I didn't model them.

-The lights have a more modern gridded pattern on the plastic. You can use angled
lights to do fancy glass effects.

-The glass windows are bodygrouped and on by default.

-The high resolution hood ornament is bodygrouped and off by default.

-The entire interior may be moved independent of the car if necessary. Useful for
shakey shots or tweaking the shot for larger characters(aka, Heavy).

-When placing characters in the car, be sure to push their butt firmly in the seat. I
can't tell you how many false negatives I got when I was initially scaling the car to
fit passengers.

-The interior has a few minor issues with SSAO, Adjust accordingly.

-The windows do not roll directly down. When rolling, but sure to rotate and move into
the door. Otherwise, you simply get weird light overlap.

There should be bones for each of the four doors. I can't remember what they are called, it's been ages since I've messed with this model. Probably something like front_door_hinge_L or something. Check under Unknown on the bone list for the model.
