Description
NOTE: If you are using "Independent Architecture" mods for the Original Dataset version, It is very important to make sure the "Original Dataset Independent Architecture" DAT Mod has a lower Mod Priority than the Architecture Mods.

Independent Architecture for Original Dataset, the Re-launch edition. Now with 90% less unnecessary fluff.

--Update Jan. 2nd: Now with Dataset Mods supporting Campaigns now, Independent Architecture Original will now tell you when the Mod is "loaded" through the Banner on the Main Menu. When it's loaded, the Scenario Editor and the Original Campaigns will use the Independent Architecture mod instead of the Default Dataset. Note that this only affects the Original AoK & AoC campaigns and the Editor "using" the Original Dataset.

Please note that using Custom Datasets for Campaigns is probably unintentional and while logically it shouldn't cause problems, since Units, Buildings and Attributes are not changed at all, I can't promise that Independent Architecture will affect the campaigns negatively.

--Update Sept. 26th: Changed the Gray (Player 7) Minimap Colour to a Darker Gray, the same as the Expansions.

--Update July 23rd: Added an unique Packing / Unpacking Construction Sprite for Trebuchets and removed some Unused Graphic Slots to help with stability.

What is "Original Dataset Independent Architecture"?

Original Dataset Independent Architecture is a Version of Independent Architecture for the Original Dataset aimed towards people who do not have any of the Downloadable Content Expansions or want to play games using the Original Dataset but also want to use IA. Since this is basically a Non-Expansion version of Independent Architecture, This mod is made to be compatible with "Independent Architecture" mods, which if you do not know what Independent Architecture is, Civilizations, such as the Spanish and Huns, used Unique, separate SLP files which allows the civilizations to be modded individually. So you can make only the Spanish use the Mediterranean Architecture Set for example. For more information about the Independent Architecture Mods or what SLP's ID's they use, please see the "SLP_Helplist" located in the Workshop Folder

All Civilizations are compatible with the Original Dataset IA. While they do not use the Unique SLP Files from IA, the Aztecs, Franks, Goths, Japanese and Turks are the only civilizations that use their Architecture sets and any regular graphic mods that change Architectures normally will only effect those civilizations. Original Dataset Independent Architecture also includes a few extra attributes from the Expansion Dataset to Independent Architecture, such as the Elite Eagle Warrior Graphics and Unique Kings. The Unique Monks from Independent Architecture are also included.

What and What Can't be Used with Independent Architecture?
  • Independent Architecture can be used in Standard Games by selecting the DAT mod in the Dataset List in the Top Right Corner. All Standard Game Modes (Random Maps, Special Maps & Scenarios) are supported.
  • Independent Architecture can be used in Online Multiplayer games by selecting the DAT Mod as the dataset when creating a lobby.
  • It CAN be used in the Scenario Editor through an Exploit. Simply launch a game with Independent Architecture (Or any Custom DAT Mod), Finish or Quit the game then immediately create a new scenario in the Map Editor using either Expansions (For Custom Expansion Datasets) or Original (Same with Custom Originals). It will launch the Custom Dataset instead of the regular one.
  • It CAN be used for the Campaigns using the exact same method as the Scenario Editor

"What happened to all the stuff from 1.0c Enhanced?"

Simply put, all the extra stuff in 1.0c Enhanced was either confusing, unnecessary or outright offputing. The Scenario Units were not needed since I highly doubt people would use the Dataset for Custom Scenarios anyways. The gameplay changes, even though they were the most necessary of bug fixes, such as Fervor actually working, people didn't really like. Overall I felt like it would be better, like the spirit of the Standard IA Mod, to keep gameplay changes to a bare minimum.

Important notes people need to know
  • It is important to make sure the Mod Priority for the DAT Mod is lower than the Architecture Mods
  • Elements such as Flames, Snow & Garrison Flags have to match their original Architectures. Because of this, they will look off using certain Architecture Mods and unfortunately, there isn't anything I can do about it.
  • On a very important note about Mills, it is very important that you read this note. It is very important to match the frames in both the Shadow SLP's & Blade SLP's (I call them Blades, which are also known as Sails or Wheels) In almost every case, there are 8 frames in the Feudal SLP's & 10 for the Castle Age. The only expectation is the African Mill which is 43 frames for both. The Berber Mills in Independent Architecture are given 40 frames since a common request is to give them the African Architecture. 40 frames is the closest I can get to the African Mill while both keeping the original animations & not giving the Mills an insane amount of frames.
  • Wonders are completely unique in nature, so they need to stay in the "drs/gamedata_x1" or "graphics' folder if your mod edits the wonder

For me, the mod has not worked for some time : it remains blocked on the original buildings, whatever the civilizations. What manipulation could I do ?

Hi, do you mind if I make a modification of this mod that increases the resources in deposits by 3? I have a mod that does that, but can't use both of the data mods at the same time. Thanks.

About adding regional / supported units? Sorry, it's not happening anymore. I've been though a lot of personal issues and depression the past year and I haven't worked on any of the mods at all. As for now, I just feel that it is too late with DE coming out soon. I really wish I replied to Nyraan here, since I would have granted Nyraan permission to do so.
