An excellent DLC that brings about the return of the boron at long last. Like all other DLC it adds ships, stories and sectors so I'm just going to talk about what makes it different:
  • Diplomat mini-missions, you get to run little errands for the Boron Queen which is pretty neat
  • A highway construction mission, I'm biased I love this mission so much and will be drawing on it for inspiration when making my mods
  • The best-looking ships in all of X4
  • The Shark and the Guppy, the way that you dock at the Boron carriers is nothing short of exceptional
  • Bofu
The only negative is that the Boron are quite secluded from everyone else, it would have been nice if they were more centrally located, like a connection to Argon Prime would have been nice and fitting.

Helped out a guy whose ship was about to be blown up. A few hours later I'm the sole supplier of unobtainium™ in the universe.

Good DLC

Accidentally caused the solar system to be overrun by a group of very angry robots. 10/10 would under-estimate the gravity of my decisions again.

Yet another incredible entry into the X-series, X3: Terran Conflict stays true to its predecessors whilst also remaining distinctively unique. X3: TC introduces stations on a massive scale (terran stations) and is testament to Egosoft's usage of the engine.

Okay, so I missed the whole 'Afterbirth' backlash and can only comment on the game in its current state (4.30) without the two expansions.

The game in my personal opinion (having also played x3r,tc and ap) is great but I can see where other x series veterans dislike it, most notably the highways (glowy space tubes) which aren't to everyone's taste.

Pros
* Massive universe (and I've seen only half of it)
* Nice enough graphics
* Pretty alright campaign / extended tutorial for newcomers

Cons
* Only one ship (as everyone else will tell you)
* Objects that just POP in
* Smalltalk minigame (not necessary to play the game though)

EDIT: Now I have the expansions I am loving this game even more

If you played X3R you'll enjoy albion prelude, as its a nice palatable expansion (requires X3TC but not X3R) which adds new ships (Lotan, Acinonyx, Kyoto, etc) and new sectors (Albion sectors) and an easy grindy way to make money (Stock Exchange) which defeats the purpose of having a trade fleet but hey
