I have some mixed opinions on this game, but I think it deserves a recommendation. Reason is its fun, but does have some issues that need to be addressed, main one obviously being bugs. Now I'm the type to dislike a game over bugs, and this one has quite a lot of them, for instance when i was first gonna beat the game via the diary ending i collected all the pages but after i game it to her and she threatened to kill me, after i ran and returned she had dropped the diary and i couldn't return it to her, thus meaning i would need to get the code and all the pages i collected were worthless. This was pretty annoying, especially cause it was my first ever time basically beating the game, and i lose cause of a glitch, so why am i giving this game a positive review? well, i think it has potential, its not some crappy AAA game pumped out with tons of glitches. Its a game, made my a single dude, and its actually decently put together. The AI for the psycho is actually pretty impressive, considering its dynamic and goes between both a crazy, and very crazy mode, with almost everything you do impacting what she does. Shes obviously toying with you, but if you don't play her game she can get annoyed and just kill you, and it does feel like that. Its not like she just stabs you if she sees you, you need to annoy her for her to do so. You can even beat the game without making her mad, which is actually pretty fun to do, even though I haven't done it yet myself I've tried and once either glitched or just did something stupid and failed... I think the game is also at a pretty fair difficulty, it feels difficult but not unfair often, and you could always up the difficulty as the higher ones are actually pretty hard, as she decides to just stab you on sight or toy with you instead of playing nice at times. I've had my annoyed moments, but they could have mostly been avoided with more skill on my end, or where glitches, but it happens at a low enough frequency that i can still give the game a good review. And, the most important part, its pretty fun. I can definitely say the game play wont be for everyone, its a game of cat and mouse but its pretty fun to need to try and avoid, and or not piss her off. Its not too scary for a horror game, but if you round a corner and see 2 red crazy eyes peering into you within the darkness holding a knife ready to carve into you slowly and painfully, it can make you jump. that and your friends head left inside of the cabinets... And if there's one last thing to address... The game is pretty weird, there's a reason most reviews are people frothing over the crazy lady trying to stab you, but i want to view it as a standalone game as well, so ill say its worth it, especially cause its only $5 and can be pretty entertaining at least once, or a couple times more if you enjoy running around and trying to collect achievements like i do. So, on a scale of 1-10, ill give the game a 7/10, with the possibility of going higher as the creator is putting a lot of care into the game and it could definitely improve if they just get rid of the bugs and don't fall into feature creep instead of fixing them, but with how advanced the AI is, I'm gonna hope they know you cant just make a game with a metric ♥♥♥♥ ton of glitches and get away with it. Also, this is a personal gripe, I'm not a big fan of how the main character looks, Saiko looks fine, her glowing eyes when shes crazy piercing through the dark are also pretty cool to see and can be a bit spooky. I'm not a fan of how she looks like she sloppily drank glow stick fluid in yangire mode, it looks kinda dumb, but other then that she looks fine. Something feels off about the main character to me, but art is subjective and its not like its terrible or i even really need to see his face much so i wont lower my review for that.

And to finish my review I'm gonna piss off most of the fan base... Saikos kinda mid asf i like having my own blood inside my body, i can tolerate her when shes not trying to show me what London is like but when shes mad or in yangire form? nah man.

Limbus company is a game that has stolen my soul, my steam hours are quite a lie as i normally play on mobile for the easy accessibility when I'm out, but I must say this game is one of the best gachas, maybe even games I've ever played. I can go on on the reasons why its really fun and I will cause why not?

1- game-play
Games got some pretty cool game-play, its simple at first, just drive your finger or mouse across the attacks and boom, enemies die, profit. But after you unlock the secondary battle style, the game goes from press win rate hehehoho damage, to a game that takes some thought, and its pretty fun! There's quite a bit of thought that goes into deciding who fights what, making sure you aren't left with only trash attacks and getting overrun, and also keeping you debufs and buffs up while trying to get some a-res. Speaking of a-res, you need to put a bit of thought into team building, both on debufs and how your units go together, like do you want to run with burn? bleed? rupture? All work! cept maybe tremor its kinda bad (I'm not apologizing for that). And with all of that it makes the combat pretty fun! some nice team-building, figuring out how to keep buffs and debufs, and how to win clashes to deal and take as little damage as possible

2- Story
Jesus. The story of this game is REALLY, its in a visual novel style is manages to balance goofy characters doing some funny things with depression! Its got a good balance of having the group of 12 sinners seem like some stupid people not paying much attention to their job and the depressing and moving story of the characters. Another addition is despite how many characters there are they are all very memorable, they have some unique and fun traits that make all of them memorable, even outside of their own chapters, and they all manage to get spotlight despite how big the cast is! My favorites are Gregor and Heathcliff, but I also Like Rodion and Ishmeal, and Don is goofy as all hell, I could be here all day explaining why I like all the characters, but lets move to the next point before I do that.

3- Music
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥- Mili knows how to make music, you might know them for making some anime opening like goblin slayer, but they really know their stuff. The music in this game is some of the best I've heard in a while, from the main theme with some mystery and beautiful sound, to Kromers chaotic yet angelic sounding theme, they all both fit their purpose and sound great!

4- Art
I'm quite the art nerd and I gotta say this game has some beautiful art. Every character looks really nice, the animations look sick as hell, you can really feel the power behind dieci Rodions punches, and zwei Gregors swordplay looks really nice with it flows. Not only that but upgrading SSRs makes them have a animated profile! And they look really sick! Most of them have them doing something real cool or in a sick pose, and its really nice to upgrade units solely to see the new art of them!

5- systems
By systems I mean everything outside of the combat, this matters a LOT in gacha games, as bad systems can make a game really annoying to grind out and sit through, but this game does it really well! The gacha is not only fair, but the alternative way to get units via ego shards is so nice! it lets you choose a unit to make if you grind out battle pass tiers for long enough, basically meaning if you got patience and terrible luck you can always still get who you want! Speaking of the battle pass, its really good, $11 for new specials some cool announcers, upgrade materials and a ton of ego shards? Yes please! Oh but you missed last seasons battle pass? No problem! You can get what matters (egos) from the old battle pass with shards, which means you never fully miss out, the only things locked behind a paywall are announcers, which is really convenient for free to plays! Paying is still worth your time, as a bit of lunacy goes a LOOOOONG way, as the gacha odds are actually really fair! Plus, the grind in this game isn't bad! I'm someone who doesn't like a lot of grinding in my games, I prefer to use skill instead of level up to get farther, but in this game its more skill despite being an RPG! Units will level up as you play through story, and the battle pass gives you enough to keep your units high level to clear content! The only thing you will need to grind for is uptie 4, which isn't often needed unless your doing the hardest of hard content, which makes it really nice! And, to finish it all off, the game is quite balanced, gachas have an issue with power-creep normally destroying their games and this one doesn't have that issue! . . . Well, maybe its a bit early to tell, some newer units are strong, but they don't make old ones obsolete, and every unit is usable! Some are of course worse then others, but they can normally work in the right team!

Now, all this sounds pretty good, but I still should talk about the cons of the game, which honestly, only 1 really comes to mind and that's the slow addition of things. Gacha games are time based and tend to add things slowly, but this game its a bit slower then the rest, however, that's for fair reason, the team making this game aint all that massive, and they tend to like to put love and care into what they make, from the story to the unit animations, it all look really nice, even if it takes some time to pump out, I'm willing to be patient as it means there's also more time to get some of the units you might not have and want...
Huh... I'm sitting here trying to think of some negatives for the game and that's all I can really thing of, Id say there are some bugs and issues but they normally get resolved pretty quickly and have some compensation for not working through lunacy. Maybe I could mention some human fights are annoying cause you cant control your attacks? Well... they are supposed to be fast, and normally strong units can just run over human fights, so its not all that bad... Huh... Well the energy system isn't amazing... eh... you can just spend some lunacy to refill your energy and it aint expensive... The fact I'm gasping at straws to try and make a fair review via the negatives goes to show the games pretty damn good, one of the few games I can confidently give a 10/10, and for that, I recommend you try it yourself, it might not be for everyone as the combat might not be for you, but I still recommend you try it, as its really good once you get into it.

And with that, remember, vroom-vroom
