Cool game. lets you build your house as a zombie safe zone aswell as any famous locations.

has a lot of storylines though sometimes they can be hard to tell if they are being progressed.
biggest limitation is manpower as it arbitrarily assigns how many squads you can have. my first playthrough I was allowed 6 but when that save file corrupted (early access game so no biggie) I found myself with 3 different locations that allowed you a max of two.

as zombies scale in numbers over time this can often mean that the zombies quickly outpace your arbitrary limit with no clear way of being able to get more (unless the absurdly expensive HQ building is the only way to develop more)

3/5 game

Voice acting is somewhat stale and the maps get somewhat repetitive and you never feel particularly challenged in terms of strategy save maybe once in the game toward the middle but it has a lot of nice touches.

the game isnt quite ready to play yet.

a lot of the menus and text that come up give the impression that this is a first attempt at the game and needs a lot of cleaning up to be in a great state

It's based off another game called infinity wars but also throws in random mythological people with art that clashes terribly with the rest despite that game having plenty of characters to fill the roster in this game.

I put a lot of time into their roguelike mode which is supposed to be 10 rounds where you build on a deck and gain some artifacts but the health artifacts dont actually let you gain health most the time if your playing how the mode is supposed to be played (your starting health is high but if you take damage in a round your now lower health becomes your stating health which you cannot heal above so in this mode your supposed to play super defensively. ) so every time you see them they're basically worthless which creates a huge imbalance where items that reduce the cost of cards or boost your resources are the only real options since anything else is more of a detriment than a help in the mode.

its also not great to try to play the game thematically along the lore of the series as the deck you start with in the gamemode is entirely genesis stuff rather than mercenaries so playing outside of that faction generally doesnt help a ton

it can also be hard to tell why card get discarded while in this mode

A fun interpretation of left for dead that adds onto the formula.

it's DLCs are a but required for a decent amount of content though and the update that added the microtransation shop made upgrading your gear a lot more difficult while removing a lot of the reward from doing the challanges since instead of loot boxes they now give pennies on the dollar

its a worse version of trouble in terrorist town. it has basically no community aspect to speak of and it can be difficult to find a lobby where you dont just play free for all with extra steps rather than the actual intent of the game

fun rogue-like. a lot of weapons feel lack-luster but the few that are fun are nice to use. and the game has a lot of variations on how you can play it and builds you can make

review per halo game:

Halo: CE
its the classic game from which all FPS games have emulated. and with the remake integration. it's only flaw is that the sequels iterated on this game's core design.

the remake's element is lesser due to a few model mismatches where hotboxes don't align where previously they did in the classic CE. and the interior of the forerunner structures on the whole got unnecessarily bright. (for example in one building there's a spotlight used to "illuminate" a wall that is nothing but light where previously it was made of stone and was being used to light the room) however this was used to good effect during the library where they added arrows on the floor to help guide players in the right direction which is the only improvement this version makes.

for this version i wish they had improved on the original by allowing you to use the vehicles that were initially unpilotable but later became accessible in the series and increasing the number of players possible to 4 to make the series more consistent with how many friends you can play it with. however this campeign is unaffected by the connectivity issues for whatever reason.

8/10

Halo: 2
the positives:
the cutscenes in halo 2 remastered look absolutely beautiful. aside from the complete butchering of ODST armor which was disappointing for how popular the halo 3,ODST, and reach design of ODST armor is.

the Negatives:
basically unplayable in coop as every 5 seconds you will disconnect from eachother.
speaking of coop this game also didnt improve the number of players you can bring in. so even if the game were to be fixed the coop is a terribly missed oppertunity.
the only "improvements" made to the infamously poorly balanced legendary difficulty was to fix bugs that allowed players to beat the game 18 years after launch.... thanks 343

5/10

Halo: 3
Halo 3 is almost exactly as you remember it. even added upon by adding in ODST weapons into the multiplayer. this campaign also suffers from the rampant connectivity issues in this game though

however it is sad that the previous renown of hyabusa and recon being needed to be unlocked is lost in translation as now the only unlocks are colors in the battlepass and some extra items that may or may not fit the art style 3 had.

7/10

Halo: ODST
Similar to halo 3 this campeign is as good as it was with an upgraded firefight that adds elites, sentinels, and the flood where previously they didnt exist without breaking the coop aspect. if the rest of the game was given the treatment of ODST the MCC would be remembered fondly.

9/10

Halo: Reach
a glorious campaign that you cannot play with friends because this game hates being played with more than 1 player.
a great cosmetic system that got replaced with a battlepass that adds a bunch of useless ♥♥♥♥ from halo 3 multiplayer and has terribly mis-matched items that look like halo 4's god awful armor.
a multiplayer and firefight with a loadout system that you can no longer use because 343 forgot this game let you do that on the 360
still has the controversial bloom system. but at the same time they didnt take out armorlock or the jump pack for their same controversy.
still has the most average weapon sandbox without anything really being added in.

this has all of the downsides of being part of the MCC while having none of the improvements that halo 2 or ODST enjoyed

4/10 (upheld by halo reach being a good solo experience)

Halo: 4
a copy/paste job by 343
the campaign still doesn't give ♥♥♥♥ for ammo leading to you needing to constantly look for weapons.
rooms will actively despawn vehicles near you where other halos the only limit is where your vehicle could fit.
the story is still a good idea made worse by it's sequel being halo 5

Positives:
+ Interesting lore (though "infinity" is a bit of a reach since the lore only really mentions 5 planes)
+ the developers keep adding in features to the game to improve itself.
+interesting deckbuilding elements without cards being locked behind a lootbox wall

Cons:
-Steep learning curve which can make the new player experience a bit rough. this is compounded by the other two negatives
-an extremely small dedicated community making it difficult to find games outside of self-match-making
- A lack of competent bots or single-player elements like previous iterations of this game. this means that when there are no players online you effectively cannot practice the game as any bots you can play against cannot play the game either. nor can you play through the faction story that previous versions of the game used to have.

this mod is good for short term play but if your trying to beat the game its almost non-functional

Due to elements of randomness in SCP containment breach SCP 106 (the old man) has a chance to instantly kill one of the players. while acceptable in a single-player game this feature is a complete run ender in a multiplayer setting as items drop upon a player's death meaning if this occurs the items that player was holding become deleted. if they are holding a keycard it is not only possible but probable that larry will soft lock all players in the lobby due to deleting the only keycards available to them.

Similarly, I had a save where i was playing on safe to get some achievements but it was randomly bumped up to Euclid while playing. this meant i could no longer save in a game where i was using 914's random chance to get an omnicard which, even with saving, is an extremely time-intensive process that could really use a toning down for the multiplayer version (maybe a 1 in 5 chance rather than a 1 in 10 chance).

my friendgroup has also found that occasionally the game will crash upon the host's death. the cause of this is unknown as it doesnt affect every session but it makes playing the game much harder as a team if the lobby ends due to one player's death
