Project Wingman is an absolutely GORGEOUS game about what it's like to live in late-2020 United States.

The only things I should warn you about is the lacking tutorial & somewhat awkward control scheme, so you gotta do a bit of adjusting before actually going forth. Oh, and when choosing a plane, make sure that it only has ONE seat in the cockpit, or else you'll be stuck with a whiney ♥♥♥♥♥ with too much self-preservation for the whole mission.

Anyways, your friends consist of Comic, who just flies around & doesn't shoot anything; Diplomat, who exists for the SOLE purpose of stealing your kill; Galaxy, your AWACS guy, who's actually pretty relatable - he's kind of an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but you start to see why after a while; Assassin 1, who I haven't paid attention to; & The Horde, which is just a bunch of friendly fighters who exist to miss targets & take up space.

Anyways, you play as Monarch, whose voice-acting is BEYOND PHENOMENAL. Like, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Whoever voice-acted him needs an award RIGHT NOW. His writing is also amazing - he has the BEST quotes out of any character in the whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. Anyways, as far as personality goes, he REALLY likes to judge people for some reason, & that's pretty much his whole character arc. Not much else to say about him. Also he likes to shoot at civillians, which makes sense given his profession.

Anyways, yeah. CAN NOT recommend this game ENOUGH. Between Monarch's voice acting, the wide variety of aircraft, the beautiful scenery & music, & the most annoying character to share a vehicle with since Tonya Wiggins & Jimmy De Santa, it's easy to see why.

Is the game any good? IDK, never played it. Matchmaking lobby is pretty cool though.

This game LOOKS cool, but it controls like mashed potatoes, and is GLITCHY AS ALL HELL.

The game starts off pretty strong, but once you get to the second boss fight, the game NOSEDIVES. The combat feels cheap, the parkouring is unpredictable, & the story holds the game together like scotch tape & glue on a pair of ripped jeans, with a plot twist you could see coming like sunrise. Honestly, I feel it would be better WITHOUT the story.

You can tell there WAS potential; there's ample space for character development that isn't just dialogue, a potentially REALLY cool rival dynamic, and more. But the game just doesn't include anything interesting like that.

As for the parkour: Personally, I prefer crisp, snappy movement, so I KNOW what's going on; this game has smoother, flowy movement by design, so I WON'T hold that against it. However, you can wall run on things & get to places you aren't supposed to, you sometimes bounce OFF of walls you ARE supposed to wall run on, you can't grab on to moving platforms and your midair dashing ability just doesn't make sense in a pinch, and actually makes you LOSE momentum. The list just goes on and on.

At least the graphics are good.

Razor: Light & tight, this one is GREAT for those who want a fast, light racecar, but still want some drifting action to go with it. I can see this becoming one of those super-hated cars, like the Raiden RS. Just don't get hit, because half your health will drift away in a single intersection. :skull2:

Bullet: Surprisingly a little loose handling, this one just kinda feels like all the other mid-size muscle cars. Not much to say here, except it loves to get airborne.

And lastly, Cardinal: Don't let the stupid name fool you; this long-awaited addition to the Wreckfest roster is FIENDISH. It handles quite tightly on the track, but where this car REALLY shines is the ARENA. Comparable to the Wingman and Warwagon, this mid-class derby beast will chase down the competition, and proceed to stamp-press anyone unfortunate enough to get in its way until they are nothing more than sheet metal. DEFINITELY a new main for me.

Looks cool. But it's been like 4 years & it's still in development, and you CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITHOUT A PREMIUM ACCOUNT. LITERALLY. NOT EVEN PLAY THE GAME.
