I was playing Shenmue on a normal afternoon and realized there was a mahjong parlor. Now, you couldn't actually play mahjong there but the Akagi fan inside of me wanted to play mahjong in the digital world very badly. That's when I discovered another, story based fighting game series also made by SEGA, Yakuza. I purchased 0 because I read reviews that lead me to believe it was one of the best, and it was on sale for around 5 bucks. So I did what any person would do,

I bought this game, just to play mahjong.

1 hour of completing the first story chapter and 6 hours of playing practically only mahjong later, and it's safe to say I'm satisfied with my purchase. There's a bunch of other cool activities/sports/games to play as well, but I don't really care for those.

Hopefully this review opened your third eye or something and convinced you to buy this game to awaken the slumbering mahjong prowess inside your soon-to-be prodigy mahjong-playing self.
