it's an okay game

better than dmc 5 and the original franchise

I'm usually a big fan of these types of games. I always play them their hardest difficulties, but something just hit wrong about this one. The fact that stealth is so rough, and the sound cues when you successfully kill someone without being noticed makes the hair on my back rise. Why play a sound effect that makes it difficult to hear, and makes you think you've been spotted instead of just letting them die. I don't need a stinger every time I throw a knife into someone's back or shoot them with a silenced pistol. Stealth usually ends up in cases where you're going loud just because some random ♥♥♥♥ saw you from across map the knife doing a take down animation anyways. I hated the shot-gunners and the grenade launching dudes because they are just so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ obnoxious to kill, and seemingly have no weaknesses, and the game just loves to pile them on. On the last boss fight I was stuck for about 30 minutes partially due to my own stupidity, but just because I didn't know what was going on. Then the second phase is just brutal as hell, and takes a solid 5-10 minutes of just peppering him constantly. I wasn't attached to the characters, most of the guns didn't feel good to shoot with the exception of the pistol (silenced) and the automatic rifle, and it all just kinda felt disjointed and disappointing. It's a decent game and held me for the full duration of the, but it's not up to par with its competitors.

Solid game so far. The vent sequence had me ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself. Excited for more chapters
