Being in the majority of people who bought this game on Steam because of nostalgia, I can only recommend this game to enthusiasts of old strategy titles and fans of the Men of War franchise which this game precedes. Though you'll need some adjustment to get this game to work on a modern OS, which is rarely the case with old/retro games on Steam, the game is optimized and works well.

an extremely frustrating game littered with bugs that haven't been fixed for years, containing a nation pampered with overpowered vehicles and undertiered tech, with a grind that will make you want to pop your eyes out, made by a video game company that doesn't care about its customers

Bots in multiplayer shouldn't be something you have to pay for. It's absurd.

absolutely astonishing experience playing this game. it touched my heart like nothing ever has before

Gives a ton of stuff, however most things are just reskins of already existing weapons and vehicles. Tanoa is a good map, and is very different to Altis, Malden and Stratis, however, even so, I haven't spent much time on it other than on some random servers. New missions also exist, I guess.

I'm going to reccomend this considering that things like Survival and other such servers are practically unplayable without Apex, but new players should not be obligated to buy a DLC in order to play the game normally (and by normally I mean with less difficulty, as there is always going to be many other DLCs that must also be bought to get the "full experience of Arma").
