Free to play, with a pay-for-bling business model.

The movement and gun-play mechanics are one of the fastest implemented on an FPS game; on-par with the arcade feel of games like Quake.

There are some mechanics which you must get used to such as bullet-drop, projectile speed, move-speed reduction when taking damage, etc. but they are implemented to balance the Battle Royal aspect of this game.

The game used to have server issues when updates were rolled out causing the game to be unplayable but this hasn't been a problem for a while.

Still, I recommend not purchasing any cosmetics due to the lack of server stability.

Early Access Review
Hard *not* to recommend a free-to-play, battle arena FPS multiplayer game of this calibre

No reason to hate this game except for the awful menus and progression system.

If you've played Advance Wars or Fire Emblem and liked those games, this game is for you (tho more similar to FE).

The game is hella fun, but doesn't go without it's flaws. The game is litered with bugs. Not gamebreaking, but just bugs which either make you go "why, wtf, why?" or "oh.... ok? I guess we take those?". Something as simple as selecting "Load Game" on the main menu and then clicking "Back" right after makes the "Load Game" and "New Game" options crawl up the screen. Little bugs like those are all over the place. (and I had my game crash one time when I tried to equip a specific weapon on a squad member.

If you look past these bugs, theres a solid game in there. The core mechancis are fun, and the game keeps throwing new abilities and new enemies at you as you progress the game so the missions don't get repetitive.

The music is probably my favorite part about this game. Its got a soundtrack I'll probably keep comming back to for a while.

The game has some redeeming qualities but overall I can't recommend this game. So first I'll begin pointing out it's strenghts, then the weaknesses.

The visuals are godlike. Much detail was put into character, enemy and level design. The animations are also well done. Everything is nice to look at.

Music is ok. Not as memorable as other chiptunes. Not fantastic, but I wouldn't mind listening to the OST once more.

Now I'm going to complain.

The game isn't difficult.
The game is too short lived.
The level design is repetitive after stage 4.
The characters str8 ripped off from Castlevania III. (I know its a successor but it never hurts to mix it up).

I just can't seem to think of a reason why anyone would BUY this when Castlevania 1 and 3 already exist.

I remember playing this game and having fun, but once I put it down I forgot most things about it. The only thing I remember is the bosses. Much visual detail was put into them.

Either Castlevania hasnt aged well or... nevermind. I just finished playing Castlevania: Classic NES Series on my GBA and that game blows this one out of the planet. Its hard to compete when the bar is set up real high.

This game is great. It is a puzzle platformer game with a serious dark theme. Game mechanics are extremely simple however the game doesn't tell you anything. The game WILL stump you on your first playthrough. I chose not to use a guide and it took me 3h straight to complete the game. The game has easter eggs (literally eggs) you can find and pop, but besides that, its a relatively sort game.

$11 (full price) for 3h of gameplay makes this a pretty expensive purchase for the non-completionists, however.

At it's core, its Brickbreaker.

Pros:
+Great visuals. Really feels like a SNES game
+Music is good
+Fun boss fights
+Above average difficulty (though pretty soft compared to Bot Vice)

Cons:
-Story/writing is lackluster. But this game isn't played for the story/writing anyway.
-No unlockables
-Local co-op only
-Gameplay can get monotonous FAST

I really wish there were more powerups. Not only that, but it would be cool to see specific enemies drop specific powerups. Some enemies are very unique, others don't feel that way aside from their apperance. Giving them specific item drops would give the enemies more depth (sort of like in the Castlevania games).

I don't really see myself re-playing this game again, however. I played it enough and sometimes I felt like just playing Bot Vice because the game's pace can drop drastically when you are aiming for the last remaining brick to break, or the last enemy to kill.

Bot Vice was great, this game was ok. I recommend it when it goes on sale. I wouldn't pay full price for this game, but I would pay full price for Bot Vice. So check that out.

I recommend this game to people who:
- Like fast-paced, almost all uninterrupted action
- Hate baby difficulty (game offers brain-dead-easy mode for the casuals tho)
- Like futuristic / sci-fi / cyberpunk environments
- Mecha-anime inspiried action
- Like to have fun playing good games

I DON'T recommend this game to people who:
- Are driven to play games due to a good narrative / interesting story. Go play a JRPG instead.
- Don't like short games. This game can be done in ~5-8 hours at normal pace depending on how good you are.
- Complain when game is too hard / unfair after getting whooped a million times.

Nit-picky ♥♥♥♥:
- Music is ok. You can keep it or turn it off and play your own music.
- Game offers many languages/subs.
- Game crashed on me once, but I couldn't replicate it

I recommend this to people who:
- Like super-detailed 2D sprite animation
- Run n gun games
- Don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about anything other than gameplay and mechanics (music still deas tho)
- Don't have Metal Slug X or Metal Slug 3 on steam
- Have Metal Slug X and Metal Slug 3 on steam and loved the ♥♥♥♥ atta them games
- Want to play Metal Slug 2 without slowdown (setting this up on PC can be a pain in the ass).

I DON'T recomend this to people who:
- achievement hunt. 1 of the achievements if bugged/cannot unlock.
- like to play this game with the original slowdown (slowdown is removed. Don't use this version to speedrun).
- want to play this online (the online is ♥♥♥♥)
- Want to conquer leaderboards (hacked leaderboards)
- Own Metal Slug X. This is basically a beta Metal Slug X

I love MS games, but having a broken achievement killed the fun for me. I feel like I got stiffed. The achievement is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard to get too...

There's nothing I can say about this game that hasn't already been said.

Guaranteed to be a memorable experience (fun and challenging). Perfect length and plenty of replay value.

Cringe sometimes tho (w/e...)
