This game is not what I wanted from a open world Harry Potter rpg.

I wanted to really experience the wizarding world, hogwarts, and everything else.

This game falls short of a lot of that.

First off, locations.

Hogwarts is great, but feels dramatically empty. Besides from the odd puzzle, various collectable, theres really not a whole lot to do besides walk through it to your next quest. Restricted areas are only restricted during quests that pertain to the restricted area. Once the quest is over you can run around that restricted area without having to dodge prefects or anything else of the sort. This seems like a massive oversight. Your character doesn't even have to abide by the "curfew" that is often mentioned throughout the story.

Hogsmead is another example. Empty. Nothing to do. You have your shops but I found myself RARELY going to Hogsmead for this purpose. The only time I'd go to Hogsmead was to get my first broom and to do the odd quest that leads me there. Nothing of note.

As for the rest of the world surrounding Hogwarts, open areas dotted with the few monster nest or poacher camp, with some merlin trials and a few dungeons spread around. Again, not a whole lot to do.

The side quests themselves are bland to say the least. It boils down to: "Hey can you go collect my lost thing?" "Hey I left this thing in this place can you go fetch it?" "Hey I found a map leading to this lost thing go find it."

Now onto my biggest gripe.

When I think about my ideal Harry Potter RPG, I think: Bully!

The classes in this game boil down to the first time you enter the classroom. You get a quiet cutscene where nobody talks and its essentially a montage of a lesson. Then after that the teacher asks you to come to them after class, you do, they tell you to keep at your lessons, then they teach you a spell. After that, nothing. You never have that class again. Who the hell thought this was a good idea? You had a PERFECT example of how a game set around a school could be YEARS ago and you forgo it? We want to roleplay as a Hogwarts student, not some godking who doesn't need classes to become proficient in magic.

Lastly, quidditch. Theres no reason. Absolutely none. You had one job.

Literally the ONLY good part of this game is Connor and Hank. And that is why I killed off Kara, Alice, and Markus as soon as I got the chance. 10/10 best ending.

Good game so far. I like it. Not for everyone. If you get triggered by SJW stuff, but in the same breath make fun of SJW's for being triggered or vice versa, then maybe skip this. Wait a few days, maybe a few weeks, for performance fixes. I myself haven't ran into any trouble. Solid 50+fps on Ultra with Raytracing and DLSS.

Running it on a Ryzen 9 3900XT, 2070 Super, 64GB of ram, with it on an ssd. But don't compare people's rigs to your own too much. Performance is all over the place. Might be good for you, might not.

Also another review said you can pet a cat. Please someone tell me where the cat is.

X-Plane 11 is a very good simulator. As someone who has no experience flying at all, this is a great learning tool. It's easy enough to pick up. The game, in my current state, starts me off on the runway totally prepped for takeoff. So its very easy for me to just take off in whatever plane I want and fly around. I have yet to attempt or succeed in landing anything, but I'll get there. I highly recommend it.
