This game would be a 10/10 if Lost Izalith and Blighttown were skippable.

Encountered a Spider and a Spikey Shadow Man all in the space of 5 seconds and proceeded to soil myself and repeatedly miss ALL of my movement keys out of panic.

It's good. Just good.
Typical Bethesda RPG, down to the same engine and everything. I feel as if this one would be too tedious for some though. There's a lot of busy work and fast travelling from system to system and planet to planet that require a lot of menu navigation.
For those that say this is just Skyrim in space even just as a meme, the statement isn't entirely wrong. It's more a better version of Fallout 4 in space. Modification/Crafting system is the same near enough, Outpost building is here also, and the combat is pretty much the same.
Ship combat is okay at a push, amounts to a lot of doing the same thing. Lasers to get the shields down, then spam ballistics and missiles to win, repeat.
One major gripe I have is the optimisation. Some areas of the game run terribly even with FSR2. Running on an NVME, 5600x, RX 6700 XT and 16GB RAM. Areas of the game drop to 50fps sometimes, and intensive battles will sometimes drop to around 45fps at Medium 1080p.
I don't think this is winning any GOTYs as people like to say on social media, but it's a good typical Bethesda affair.
