what if amogus had pretty anime people

No but honestly it's really quite good. It can get pretty repetitive at the end without a guide as you search for all the events, but it's solid core gameplay and the characters are fun and cool.

Sad time-looper is sad.

No but honestly the character work in this game is excellent, and a lot of thought has been put into making the gameplay work in the context of repeating the same things over and over again. It's great.

I really wish there was a "eh" review button, because I'm feeling very much in the middle on this one.

The artstyle is fantastic, but there's simply not that much variety yet. I was three runs in and I already felt like it was a little repetitive. There's a fair amount of stuff to unlock via achievements, but it still feels like most runs are way too similar.

This is a really good game. Every single map (after the first couple) is interesting and complex. There's no filler rout maps here where you slowly trawl through the map hunting down all the enemies, all maps are dynamic and multifacted.

There is a cost here, though: The game is really, really exhausting. At almost no point can you really just turn your brain off and clean up a map. There's too much going on not to keep constant attention, and it definitely wears on you, so it's good to take breaks in this game. The 5-turn save system is nice for this.

I also really like it on the story front. This is a character focused story that really tries its best to try to avoid letting characters simply fall by the wayside after their joining chapter, like say, Shadow Dragon. Most characters feel interesting, relevant, and useful throughout the game.

Anyway, it's good. Buy it if you like SRPGs, and don't mind unimpressive visuals.

This is... not Uchikoshi's best work. The characters are less likable (particularly compared to 999 and VLR), the fight scenes feel more intrusive and annoying than in the original AI, the drama often feels silly and hokey rather than heartfelt (No highs like Luna from VLR or Mizuki's segments in the original AI), and even the plot, inarguably the strongest part of the game, is kind of... Eh.

I guess my biggest issue is it just feels very... Marvel? Apparently serious scenes are too close to goofiness for my liking. I guess if you have a stronger suspension of disbelief than I'm capable of, you'll probably have fun.

Game's pretty good! It's not the best SRPG I've ever played - plenty of the criticisms you'll see around here are true. In particular: A lot of the maps, especially in the latter half of the game, are pretty boring. The writing is also certainly nothing to write home about (unless you're writing about how it's like FE4). It's also kinda easy.

That being said: The squad "gimmick" is very extensive and thought out. It adds a lot of depth here. It's honestly a really tactically interesting game. I'd recommend it.

A near perfect JRPG. I've played many and yet I've never seen characterization so crisp, dialogue that flows this well.

It's true that the plot starts very slowly, but it's honestly fine. It just gives us more time to get to know your great party.
