I bought Overwatch back then and I wouldn't except it to turn into this pile of garbage. Game was fun to play, polished with cool seasonal events, skins and frequently rewarded lootboxes for playing the game(which you could also buy with real money and felt mostly fair)

Right now we have ugh... this.
First major change was locking new heroes behind grindy battlepass, comp synergy and hero swapping are really important in Overwatch and this just hurts the competitive integrity. I'm a returning player so unlike my friends I didn't get to know the thrill of having to unlock nearly every character via some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ quests.

The other change was removal of the lootboxes, which granted couldn't be that bad if they didn't make skins extremely overpriced and passive currency from quests so small that it takes months to get one legendary(in a game where you will most likely play few heroes mind you).

Polish from the first game is also gone, it's just not the same quality it was before and it shows.
Last of all the PVE aspect of the game got cancelled, the reason for making Overwatch 2 was just straight up removed. Blizzard lied and we're just left with awful monetisation. There's no tell what they will pull off next.

Competitive is ruined because of hero unlocks.
Want a new skin? Either waste money or grind for months, game doesn't respect you.
There are obvious signs of greed that are really discouraging to put any hours into the game right now, I wouldn't recommend playing it to anyone.

Game is p2p, have fun with 100ping most of the time.
It's extremely fiend(killer) sided, fiend can just spam traps and sit there, objectives like gas cans despawn if they stay in one place too long.
In case he has no marshmallows and actually decides to pursue your ass then don't worry because he can place 5 traps in front of you and then materialise behind a wall.
Neither phasing out nor traps have cooldown whatsoever(traps only have a limit), doesn't help that LOS is wonky sometimes.
New player experience is miserable when mostly matched against people that already know what they're doing.
Game might be free 2 play but therapy after isn't.

Servers are unstable 80% of the time 20% of the time they don't work alltogether.
Random loss of progress, half the time clicking on anything results in a gray screen that forces you to restart the game,
said restart requires at least 5 tries to even get in.
Tons of bugs, if you get booted off you either have to click everything again or it's lost and ♥♥♥♥ you're out of luck.
Unoptimized client (6 GB RAM for what was a browser game, seriously? and it still works like trash)
Nostalgia hits hard but for what it is rn, this thing is barely playable and not worth wasting time.
And it is said to be `full release`.
Try in a year when they hopefully do fix stuff

This gem spiraled my sleep schedule out of control for at least 2 weeks right now.
I definitely recommend it for anyone wanting a fun roguelike dungeon crawler.

A proper run takes around 2-3hrs maybe less if you're more skilled, it saves at the start of each floor so you can quit and come back later(or savescum in that regard) except on boss floors(which can be safely left only with alt f4).
With the base game comes 13 classes and 1 race(human, no weaknesses) to mess around with, dlcs expand that with 8 new races and classes each with their own mechanics to mix things up even more.
You can customise few aspects before(and even during the run)like friendly fire, minotaurs, traps and hunger if you don't like either of those.

Early on the game is brutal, traps are everywhere, rats and skeletons kill you in 2-3 hits with anything bigger possibly 1 shotting or being unable to run away from, requiring the player to fight dirty and use any advantage they can get. Get few levels and some gear and the game suddenly seems manageable, with only strongest foes requiring forethought.
Every few floors there are hatches to special levels with their own usually deadly gimmicks(most of them announced by a message when entering floor they spawn on), overcome them and the advantage they can give will only further increase the chances of winning.
Death will be plentiful early on, either from traps or enemies, learn from mistakes, prepare and soon enough you will die only from your stupid decisions.

It has a lot of replay value(even more with DLCs which are worth it) and that is only considering singleplayer.
Multiplayer is a beast on it's own, adding a lot more hours to the clock with the shenanigans that happen there, be it deliberately or from stupidity.

Now to clear some misconceptions
-Game is not that RNG dependant as some people would say, with enough knowledge most run ending situations are preventable
-Neither is trading blows necessary, stealth system exists for some reason and should be used even by warriors early on when they lack AC because everything hits for 1/3 of your hp, alternatively if you're fast enough you can hit something(player has higher attack range than enemies) and turn around to run away essentially kitting stuff.
-Grinding every skill is not necessary to beat the game, it can be done while focusing only on essentials for your class.
-Dungeon floors are very dark early on, through the game as your PER stat increases, so will night vision rendering light sources obsolete, allowing you to use shield freely

Well written and pretty balanced unlike a certain game in the same universe.
