Early Access Review
Great game to play with friends. Has created some of the funniest moments out of any game I have played.

Very fast paced and interesting twist on game modes compared to other FPS games.

This has always been one of my favorite games. Something I could fall back to for an enjoyable experience. Not so sure that this will remain the same after being purchased by Epic Games.

With the announcement of the upcoming deal between Rocket League and Epic Games, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming feeling of distraught.

Approaching the 1,000 hour mark in this game, and have developed a Steam friends list and community feeling around my experience in it. While I may be no pro, Rocket League has always been one of the games that I can always fall back on when I'm sick of FPS games. There's something about the feeling I get that's completely unique to every other game out there.

Whether or not Epic actually actually makes changes to the core game itself, I can't help but notice how their ownership will inherently reshape the community surrounding it. Not only will I have to move all of my friends over to Epic rather than Steam for the game, but it also won't be integrated with the other games on Steam I play with these people.

Additionally, the Steam purchasing options are already so deeply embedded into the game. DLC, keys, Rocket Passes, and community maps have been around for quite some time now and have all been done through Steam purchases. I'm not sure how easy this will be under Epic's control. Community map development and custom games could become a thing of the past.

Finally, I'm a bit worried how the Rocket League trading scene will develop from here on out. With steam, it has become such a fluid process finding traders to make a deal with. I have concerns that this process will be as simple when Epic takes control. With a rather hefty inventory, and large sums of time spent trading with other people; this is the first time in the game's history that I have been hesitant as to whether it makes sense to continue.

In my opinion, the three main reasons that games last are the competitive scene, the community, and the trading market associated with the game. Using CS:GO as an example; they have mastered all three of these areas. Rocket League has as well up until this point which is why they have outlasted several other games that have come and went over the years.

Examples of these games can be H1Z1, PUBG, Fortnite, and to an extent Apex Legends is already starting to expire.

Overall, I'm a bit worried for the future of the game. Please feel free to share below additional concerns you may have, or point out mistakes in my reasoning that may actually turn out to be better under Epic's system. I'm open to new ideas.

Just a couple months after PUBG came out back in March of 2017, I decided to buy in. It has been by far one of the most thrilling and heart wrenching games I have played. You can sit for hours on end in pursuit of a victory, and no matter how good you are at the game, you always get that adrenaline rush when you're doing well.

After the game came out of Early Access, I was extremely disappointed. I did not think that it was ready, and the hacker abundance was ridiculous. After taking a break from January 2018 - July 2018, I am extremely pleased with the progress the devs have made. Not only have they launched the FIX PUBG campaign, which promises to finalize the majority of all issues regarding server lag and optimization, but the game's current state feels much better as well. There are far fewer fps drops, and the only main concern is the dsync which should be fixed shortly.

Overall, this has been the best $30 I have spent online.

This is by far the most heart wrenching game I have ever played. Period.

You know that feeling you get in a battle royale game when you're about to win, and your whole squad is watching you with all the pressure on your back? That's every fight in Rust.

You've got to protect your loot, or you can lose it all. This game makes it easy to dump hours on end into a base only to repeat again the next day, all the while having either a lot of fun, or suffering a lot of pain.

The game rewards good PVP skills, so get practicing because it will make it a much better experience.
