Don't do it, you deserve better

Coming from a negative review back during the launch days for the game, I now honestly believe the game is worthy of a positive review, the game handles much better now, the random stutters are gone, can matchmake more reliably now (at least to friends and solo runs), and it genuinely feels like a good successor to Payday 2. This is not to say the game is perfect, some mechanics are awkward, some missions stealth is just unnecessarily brutal, such as the Dirty Ice guard routes changing after picking up the first loot bag to intentionally be in the way rather than just consistent with the rest of the heist, however this isn't enough to drop it negative as overall it is a pleasant experience to play Payday 3. The biggest positives being massive overhauls to stealth mechanics making stealth much more predictable but still tense and exciting as you try and run through the heist. The new tech gadgets also modernizing the gameplay while not feeling cringe or out of place, such as being able to hack the CCTV cameras being a decently realistic addition that both fits the game and the time it released.

While previously the game was a bit buggy, until the game is fixed following the epic games update its gonna be literally unplayable for some players, besides the bugs being a massive problem I otherwise recommend the game, because before the update, it was very fun and sometimes the bugs were even funny, but now it may not even boot at all due to bugs depending on the player's setup, so for that reason I can not currently recommend the game in this state

want to spend 12 steps just trying to get the game launched? well this is the game for you! deal with multiple launchers, graphics driver updates from after the game released to launch, multiple crashes on launch no matter what computer, and sometimes even "application for launch not found" errors, because apparently it can forget that you're launching it from steam. the game its self is better than launch, but not many games are worth this much effort just to launch it

It a great game if you like any form of resource management

The game, while occassionally laggy due to lack of proper optimization, which makes sense for early access game, is a great concept and while the "stream sniping" thing is a bit annoying, it is rare, and none of my group have been banned for it or have had someone banned for it (we do livestreams, none of us request for people to be banned for stream sniping) and the cosmetics system is the best I have seen for drops because you earn ingame currency that does not need to be bought, in order to get crates that don't need keys to unlock (I am looking at you valve) so almost everything is obtainable without paying any extra money, the looting system makes the game balanced because nobody can spawn with a really good gun, or even one at all, and everyone has equal chance of finding good guns and ammo, the controls are well layed out by default, and the game, while a little unpolished, is really good overall.
