An excellent, fully free alternative to other Survivors-likes.
Colourful, mechanically impeccable and full of inside jokes if you know your HoloLive.

Is it a very simple game? Yes.
Is it a very easy game? Hell no.

I don't agree with all of its design choices, but it's a very solid tower defence game.

Tired of replaying Hexcells? Here's a lot more of it that's almost as good!

I prefer Crusaders of the Lost Idols, but there's definitely potential here.

It's a solid free to play shooter, but WOW is it obtuse to just get from game start to game play.
I have no idea why this is set up this way.

As one of the few people that played the first game my expectations were VERY high for this.

And then they were surpassed.
And then I finished it.
And then I finished the second ending.
And then I finished the third ending.
And then it became my favourite game of all time.
And then I finished all the other endings and achievements.

Yeah, no. Sorry.

I really like incremental / idle / clicker games, and am always interested in seeing what they do differently.
Other than a nice art style there is NOTHING that this game does differently that is in your favour, instead it is just trying to get your money.
Aggressively sacrificing fun for monetisation isn't something I want to spend my time on.
I'm heading back to Crusaders of the Lost Idols and so should you.

Just doesn't work, all listed playtime is patching and waiting for it to fail loading.
Guess I won't play this then.

EDIT: Oh hey, I got in this time. The loading times are absolutely atrocious though. With 20 second portions of gameplay being interrupted by whole minutes of vaguely communicated loading / connecting.

The most barebone tower defense game I've seen in a LONG time.
Yes it's free, but there is so much better stuff out there for free, actually free not In-App Purchases supported 'free'.

At least the achievements don't require you to complete the campaign, I guess?

I was pretty mean to the original Braveland, a lot of these issues are still there in Braveland Wizard, but a lot of them have been fixed as well.

This time around you play a female wizard sent to the ancient library to finish her training, encountering bandits and monsters along the way as well as a variety of new characters (...or groups of characters, really) to join you and support your efforts. This unceremoniously escalates to you saving the world, as you slowly head east on the node based map.

Levels can't be replayed, but there are a few (by which I mean exactly 3) repeatable dungeons so you can theoretically grind for character experience to further unlock skills and passive upgrades and money to buy new equipment and hire units.
All in all it wasn't a spectacular game, nor one I expect to revisit any time soon... or even remember, but the changes made since the original are enough for me to push it from a thumbs down to a thumbs up.
I guess I'll have to see how part 3, with its Pirate theme, holds up... eventually.
