This game has the potential to be really great, but the balance issues really hold it back, and the slow updates aren’t exactly helping the cause either.
The potential for games to drag out and stall is massive depending on who you’re playing (With Werewolf usually being the unlucky victim to slow play) without many options for counter play. In 1v1 scenarios, it’s fine, the monster has to be careful but quick so they don’t risk getting ambushed by another teen with a weapon, or drop chase to pursue something more proactive, as the teen, you need to be mindful of the monsters 1v1 options, werewolf especially being a 1v1 king.
The real issue is when teens start grouping up, if a competent player has a solar flare with a group that also have their weapons built, you don’t have to many options. Dollmaster and wurt can kind of work around it but it’s a rough trip.
Most of the skill celling for the monster side is just wiping everyone out and having complete control before weapons can be established, which is alright on paper, but not too fun after a while, even if you get good at it. I think the game should have a stalemate breaker mechanic, because rifts aren’t really doing a good enough job at that.
If the devs can get the player counts flowing again and work on some balance changes, there’s some serious potential here, but sadly, its a bit of a dead game at the moment

I've never had a game actually mentally exhaust me and cause me to be unable to form basic sentences other than VR chat.

This games community may be dead, with the last survivors being modders that are still working in this game to this day. But that doesn’t any less fun. It may not be the most unique rougelike, and it’s definitely not glitch free, but it’s art style, gameplay, even the art honestly, more than make up for it if you can deal with a few random game crashes now and then (although the latest patch made it to where game crashes mid run are extremely uncommon now; unless you REALLY broke the game)

i came into this game not expecting much, mostly for the mods. but when i started playing i just couldn't put it down. i dont know what drew me in, the gameplay, the art, tactics, everything about this game just seemed for me. i can see why others dont enjoy it, but the way this game is executed is insanely good, the idea of normal humans facing the darkness and horrors seen only in myths and struggling because of it is a great mood and is done well. is it grindy and long? yes. will it frustrate you at times? yes. and that might not be what everyone wants from a game, and thats ok. but i promise you, if you put in the work, hours, and dedication to this game, you'll love it.
