Crab Souls

If you liked Cult of the Lamb combat, this is a very similar style to that but wrung out for more of its worth. Cute art, good character customization, fun characters, and rewarding combat without bleeding into pure frustration. Weapon choice is fully in your control and the actual build of your character varies based on what drops you get each expedition. Progression feels good and you really do need to work on your combos to truly stand a chance with the difficult enemy attack variations.

Great demo release and the full game is everything I'd hoped and more

Edit: There is even three profiles so you can play an a user with all unlocks immediately without ruining the progression system for another profile. Couldn't be more pleased with the attention to detail and thought put throughout everything

Its just about what you would expect of ARK and Pokemon having a lovechild that is in early access. If you like games like this expect to get 30 hours out of it solo before you grind to a halt in progression and the game loses most of its allure. That being said, those first few sessions are easily worth the asking price in my opinion. If you have friends to play with it will be even more worth the payment and last longer. Not every game is made to be played forever at the end of the day. Fun while it is, but I won't be returning unless there is a notable update to the game as replayability pretty much doesn't exist here as the grind stops being fun at about level 25 and is dreadful come level 30. I couldn't see any good reason to go through it again without heavily altering XP gain, which at that point feels as if it defeats the purpose of XP even existing and reduces the game to very little substance after the initial sessions. Still happy to have had my time with the game tho!

Some performance issues (drops to 30 fps in base often) but otherwise fun

Much more fun to just play around in rather than attempt to optimize goal progression

Once you play modded you never go back. Quality of life mods are seriously game changing and Calamity is an obvious upgrade to the base game

The learning curve is at a point that if you dont have someone to baby you, you will have to put in 200 hours to make any semblance of progress

Can only do full days at a time but they are pretty quick so this is rarely an issue an allows for quick course correction if you make a mistake or something of that nature. Very interesting story and gameplay but the patience system can get annoying with people actively ignoring appraisals that hurt the value of their item. Hiding cards to keep this accurate also gets you into trouble so there is no winning which can become frustrating.
