I kicked people from my game session multiple times so I could spent almost an hour just listening to a dude talk about the history of his species, and I'll ♥♥♥♥♥♥ do it again

This game is less a citybuilder and more a Match-6 with a citybuilder aesthetic, and that's a good thing! Enough planning is needed for this game that you can't totally glaze over but little enough that there's nothing to stress over. Beautiful artstyle and a really pretty soundtrack

Way prettier than I expected, this game has a fantastic atmosphere. An amazing portrayal of post-apocalypse survival (without hunger/thirst bars) and a great exercise in isolation without dullness.

Bought this game when it first dropped on Early Access and put 35 hours into it, playing it here and there whenever they added big updates so that I wouldn't burn myself out before the full release. I loved it in early access and now that it's out I still love it. Great world, cool weapons, great sound design, the audiologs found around the world are really interesting. It's not especially difficult on the default settings as long as you know how to escape from multiple Reapers chasing you, but exploring Eden and restoring the power to each district is a fun time and satisfying when you see the lights turn on and stay on.

They really need to work on the memory leak that kicks in after about an hour of gameplay and things like AI pathfinding but overall it's a worthwhile experience

This game is somewhat unique when it comes to FPS'. With a deeply personal story and unreliable narrators, neither you nor the characters have a full grasp of what's going on but you want to understand the situation just as much as they do. Each level is fairly linear but packed with worldbuilding and reasons to replay them that add context and meaning to the full story.

Even though Get Even has a dark atmosphere and definitely has horror elements I'd sooner compare it to Spec Ops: The Line than a game like Penumbra or Condemned for it's overall storytelling, but even Spec Ops (regardless of being third person) doesn't quite match up as that game is ultimately a crticism of military shooters while Get Even reaches for something closer to home that usually only walking simulators try for with far less player interaction.

The moment to moment combat is standard faire but the CornerGun is fun to use and the various ways you interact with and change the environment add some variation. The stealth is nothing to write home about but is far from terrible.

The characters are all interesting and the voice acting is wonderful, they breathe life into the game and draw you in. Composer Olivier Deriviere (Alone in the Dark (2016), Remember Me, Vampyr, Technomancer) ties every piece of music into the story and rather than force emotions from the player he enhances them, encourages the player into dread and excitement, anxiety and a sense of safety. The OST is worth a purchase on it's own (buy it from his Bandcamp it's only $2.99 there)

With everything above and the price point (especially on sale) make this game an absolute must buy

My brother gave it to me as a gag gift. I ran it with Idle Master for the cards, I've never actually played this. Good lord I'm grateful for that.

An awesome game that just needs more players. If you have a few friends who want to play a game like For Honor, but fun, get this.
