If you're a fan of old school PS1 racers, specifically referring to Rollcage, you're gonna love this. Banger soundtrack, mean cars, dirty racing involving vehicular combat, and different vehicle types suited to different driving styles. Races get fast-paced at break-neck speeds, and one wrong move can cost you the race. It's exhilarating.

Just play SWAT 4: Elite Force First Responders instead. It's a complete game with more polish than this disappointment.

I really want to like this game, but it has some glaring issues that are detrimental to the enjoyment of the game. As many have pointed out, the AI is awful in this game. The SWAT AI isn't that great, the suspect AI must have been modeled after John Wick, and the civilian AI is just plain stupid. The gunplay is solid, and feedback should be great; however, that doesn't seem to be the case when suspects don't react properly to whatever you do to them. You can gas them and then constantly hit them with multiple officers shouting to get down just for the suspect to 360 noscope you 2 seconds later, but if you shoot them, you get hit with unauthorized force or some crap. The game's performance is mediocre to bad depending on the map and however the engine feels at the time.

The lack of updates over long periods of time are killing the game. I see a new update, play it just to realize it still needs time in the oven, then wait another 6 months because the devs take so long to get a proper update out while spewing out all these dev blogs instead of just implementing fixes.

This is one of the most polished FPS games to have come out in the past few years. It keeps the spirit of its Build Engine predecessors while using an advanced source port to add a ton of sorcery to the engine. The combat is chunky. The weapons are VERY satisfying. The enemies are legitimate threats. The levels are believable and very well-designed, staying true to the Build Engine philosophy.

Let's talk about the soundtrack real quick. The music in this game is BANGER AFTER BANGER. The decision to bring in a veteran of the old tracker music days (Fasttracker 2, to be specific) was genius. The lo-fi samples used with that classic tracker sound and feel fits the game environments so well, and it deserves merit on its own. Aftershock's soundtrack is EVEN BETTER.

Grab this game with the Aftershock expansion. It's worth every damn penny and worth every minute of your time.

Unfortunately, Epic would rather bury the legacy that got them where they are today, so go grab a CD copy, or consider this abandonware and treat it as such (arr).
Unreal is a great experience that may outstay its welcome the last hour or two, and it's worth taking the plunge yourself. The combat is great with weapons designed for their own situational usage. The AI is intelligent and will give you a run for your money. The maps look amazing, but can be a little confusing in their layouts. I only got stuck two or three times, though, so it's not too bad to navigate. My main gripe is with the lack of enemy variety, but the intelligence of the enemies makes up for it. Find a way to play this. It's worth the 12 hours.

Definitely worth the money. It had loads of replayability, and the gameplay is addicting. If you don't like all the stuff flashing on your screen, the game has options to tone down and disable that stuff to make the game accessible. It oozes with style, and the combat is all about flowing like water and testing your reflexes. Get this game if you want a fast-paced dopamine and adrenaline rush.

Early Access Review
Just grab Unreal Tournament instead. This hot garbage was dead on launch, and the devs dipped and took the money from the poor suckers who paid for this. I got it for free, and it still wasn't worth the cost of my 8 minutes.

Early Access Review
I bought this game because I found the concept very interesting, and this could have been a hell of a gem if the devs would have kept working on the game.
This game is dead and always has been dead since launch. It's another game stuck in Early Access limbo that will never be finished. Don't waste your time with this one.

A very strange and interesting game. If you like a moody, uneasy atmosphere and old-school FPS games, give this one a go. It doesn't overstay its welcome, and it has quite a few surprises in store that make it all worth it.

This game took over my life. I only eat, drink, and breathe Synthetik. My wife left me and took the kids. I don't care because I have Synthetik. I have spent countless hours spent blasting away at murder bots with unlimited thrills of grabbing the next item and the next weapon to see what I'll get the next. I'm getting evicted soon as I don't even work because Synthetik is life. Please help, I can't play Synthetik without a home.

This game is absolutely amazing. The game has plenty of depth which will give you more than enough to play with and put tons of hours into the game.

The campaign is a useful tutorial to get you acclimated to different tactics and characteristics of some vehicles and different weaponry, but you'll spend most of your time in the Freelance mode. The Freelance mode is where you'll be able to set up your runs and make decisions that influence the play style needed to complete missions with your pilot setting the difficulty factor, payout bonus, and sometimes special rulesets such as fighting specific factions or alternate spawnlists.

Brigador has a lot of depth to its gameplay with how each build requires specific tactics. Make a glass cannon that requires playing games of cat and mouse. Build a heavy machine that is an outright brawler in the streets. Create something more rounded out - the choice is yours.

With all that said, welcome, Brigador. Your contract has been accepted.
